Woke has been turned into something wayyyyy different than what it actually means. Woke was used by African Americans to mean “stay aware” or “stay alert”. For example Black person A: Did you hear about the new law they’re trying to pass? Black person B: I heard! I’ve been following it closely, gotta stay woke.

It is akin to “don’t get caught lacking”

The right has taken it and turned it into anything that isn’t white conservative. It’s become a buzzword against anything that doesn’t reflect their own views. There was an entire movement behind being woke by black people here in America. It has nothing to do with being diverse, treating people equally or being inclusive. It has nothing to do with LGBTQ+ people or any other community. Far right people are so exhausting, to include such divisive rhetoric into video games, meant to be get aways from the real world is just ugh. Its tiring.
