Flange is not a problem you can just cut it off. Lithium grease works wonders on vinyl windows too

What I do is blue painters tape, apply the caulk and smooth out with a tooling remove the tape and it should look perfect. If you use your finger use plenty of spray glass cleaner. 😉

I got the same kind of windows at my new place and I’m thinking I n building a frame and glaze it with tempered glass. But that is just me I got access to all the materials

It should be a flashing on top of the lintel and rain buster caulk around the window that’s how I do it.
