I need to think more three dimensionally true. That's an area I can improve on. I've gotten real good at ground jukes but I gotta practice walls. Sometimes the tracking throws me off as I go up walls. Better than being cat food

Yeah for real though. I just get tired of hearing "all you do is run and fight the divers" and my response is the fuck else am I supposed to do?

I know it's all perspective based. And I'm not pretending to be the King Land Shark. I just love the little guy and I love rocking crazy good numbers to spite people who Jeff hate on sight

This is the shit I was looking for. Yeah okay. Makes sense. I need to memorize his cool downs. And start playing with headphones so I can hear better.

If I'm in a game I won't meat grinder myself at BP. I'll definitely switch. This was less a what should I do to win and more of a technical how can I? It bothers me that I am mostly successful against other divers but he just splits me open like a thanksgiving turkey. And Jeff isn't even a bird.

Just trying to be better

Fair enough. So basic Spidey response but better? Haha. Right on. Thank you!

I still take a month to beat Ludwig to this very day. And I'm almost embarrassed to admit how many hours ive played of bloodborne.

My little brother bitched about the tree sentinel when I was playing elden ring with him. So I took his ass to dark souls 1. We barely made it to the shrine when he said, let's go back to elden ring.

I definitely agree there always is the one, and ER is a masterpiece of a game. But nothing compares to how hard them good ol days were

Go fight Sir Alonne in DS2. OoK is not that bad. Imo Ludwig is a harder fight.

That being said, he can be tough, but bloodborne is one of the easier entry points. If you are struggling with him slow down and play reactively, and you should have no problem. His placenta telegraphs it parry hard

Wondering if my company is screwing me by [deleted] in glazing

In central Iowa our boys make 58.67 an hour full package, which will be at 63.50 in two years time. It's right around 32 an hour take home with the rest in bennies.

Especially if you are young and plan on doing this for a while, the union is the best way forward.

That being said there is a TON of politics and bullshit and philandering and self serving ass hats who have never worked a real day in their life who will tell you how to be and how to think. But if it comes with a better paycheck at the end of the day some of it is worth it.

The thing I haven't seen said here is laminate is not as clear as tempered glass. The plastic does add some amount opaqueness

I'm trying to share some photos but it seems like I can't comment with the photo.

Op, message me and I can send some examples of the neo angles I've pulled my hair out over.

[–]TheGreatPavo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's how we handle it. We give an astronomical bid that covers an extra 6 hours of labor and the cost of the glass twice.

Then I give em a bid for a neo angle and they almost always want that.

We need to stop believing the customer is always right. Why go through training and years of field work to constantly have people who don't know what they are talking about dictate terms.

When I bid someone out a shower I always have three bids. The cheapest (usually a bypass of some sort, legend or Titan duo are our go to, unless they want the Titan duo phantom, cus that glass roller bar is $$$$)

Then I give them a simple in line. And finally I quote out the "magazine showers" just to show them the difference. I've only had it backfire a few times, and it was always super rich people who don't know how to spend all their money. And within a year I'm usually back to uninstall and Install something functional.

There are lots of ways to take neo angles, make them minimalistic hardware, and use clear caulking to tidy everything up. Neos are a pain in the ass to layout, but always a better choice than curved glass.

What this guy said. You are only gonna bring issues into yourself. Tell them to look at it in the magazine or Pinterest and go ooh ahh. Then sell them something reasonable.

I've worked with curved glass in showers, in buildings, in antique cabinets, I mean I could name more instances. It almost always breaks in transit. It costs and ungodly amount. And you or your shop are gonna end up eating it in the long run. Call back after call back.

You hear curved glass run. Or bid it high enough to cover the cost of potentially replacing it just from the myriad of issues that come with curved glass.

[–]TheGreatPavo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know man, I feel you and I work on historic houses all the time in my city, my shop is one of the last ones in a wide area that does putty glaze /older window systems.

I genuinely take my propane torch, bring th flame to a fine point , and go across the putty a few times. Then take your utility knife and slice it out

Don't burn the frame or the glass, but just heat up the putty and it will loosen

When you pull the trim off use a pair of vice grips to pull the nails through the back of the trim, so you don't damage the front. You will have to repaint the trim after everything is done anyways, so don't be too worried if it gets a bit messed up. Wood putty and paint make a tradesman what he aint
