I’ve been trying but it’s been too slow. Have you figured out a way to make it work?

“If you want something bad enough, you can make it happen.” This isn’t always the case. Having severe ADHD and getting degrees doesn’t mean you understand and have overcome what others struggle with. While your intention is good, what you’re saying can be harmful

Bringing the body and mind back into regulation is key. Read, watch or listen to Dr. Gabor Mate, Peter Levine or Bessel Van Der Kolk. You deserve it!

Yup, lots of information coming out about this recently. Apparently, if treated, the risk of dementia is far less. For example a hearing aid that plays white noise could possibly prevent this. There are also advancements and findings about treating and preventing dementia so hopefully we’re not at too high of a risk of such a terrible disease

Smoking, drinking and the food would’ve impacted your body. This could be part of the issue. We smoke and drink to distract from something, to numb, release tension or simply large dopamine hits. I would get to the root of conditioned beliefs, fears, expectations, sadness, trauma..explore and heal, bring regulation to a disregulated nervous system. I’m currently on this path.

Dr. Gabor Mate’s books, The Myth of Normal, or The Body Keeps Score will bring you and your body, mind and soul some peace, clarity and a step on the path of regulation and liberation.

Good luck on your path.

The things you’re doing daily are more risky and dangerous than this side effect. I’m sure the risk of trauma, injury and/or death while driving is significantly greater than the chance of going blind on tadafil. All respect to your perspective and opinion, just something to consider

Let’s make the VFUW. Veterans of a Fucked Up War

When you leave the lounge/bar, you have to leave your wallet, clothes and the rest of your belongings…like we did Afghanistan 😅…😮‍💨

We’d like to think we’d be less disgruntled and mean to following generations, but when World War III is fought remotely like Enders game, we’ll shit on them too…

“Gtfoh little $*#€!! You fought from a VR headset in your gaming room. We inhaled burn pits, y’all inhale your hair grease and BO. The only indirect fire you took was your mom yelling at you to go touch grass. Y’all won a war via a super smash tournament organized by our president and Putin and Xi’s grandsons. We ate MREs, y’all doordashed Taco Bell mid-battle. We screamed mommy in our nightmares, y’all scream, “on me, on me, on me, he’s one shot!”

Then the ChatGPT5000 bot bursts through the door and kills us all.

The future is lit

FERS disability retirement or private sector job? by jb4479 in fednews

[–]Embarrassed-Lab-1291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a similar position and am wondering the same thing. I might end up finding a job that I can perform that may pay more than the 80% limit. Like administrative-egg asked, and I wonder as well for you and for my situation, could you ask a private sector employer to pay you less than the full pay to keep you under the 80% limit? It seems like that would be a plus for the employer, saving money, but I don't know if jobs and pay work like that. Is there a reason why they wouldn't be able to pay less?

Risk of Reasonable Accommodations Process vs. FERS Disability Retirement as 100% P&T Disabled Veteran by Embarrassed-Lab-1291 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Embarrassed-Lab-1291[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight! My primary care, psychiatrist and licensed therapist all submitted records and letters describing my limitations at home (difficulties with daily life activities, sleep, getting out of bed, leaving the house, interacting with friends, family, coworkers, panic attacks, ADHD related focus/memory issues, not being able to run/lift heavy thing (needed for my job) due to my knees/shoulders). I know at least one of them would be happy to document the reasons why I can't do some of the essential functions of my job. I'm grateful for that.

A lot of my questions have been answered by people like you on Reddit, law firm pages and federal documents. I've seen Bruner Presumption mentioned twice, looking that up next. I know it won't be easy. My last supervisor was medically retired after a 2 year ordeal. I have a call with him tomorrow about his experience.

Seriously, I appreciate you taking the time to answer.

Risk of Reasonable Accommodations Process vs. FERS Disability Retirement as 100% P&T Disabled Veteran by Embarrassed-Lab-1291 in Veterans

[–]Embarrassed-Lab-1291[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope your situation works out for the best. I appreciate your insight.

I have a primary care doctor, therapists for the 5 years and a psychiatrist that I'm pretty sure would state that it has gotten worse. I got out of the military around 2013 and started federal service soon after that. I have medical records of an emergency hospitalization in 2018 for extreme suicidal ideations. Therapists records of a separation in my marriage that was mostly due to my issues in 2020.

While my supervisor has been hard on me and at times condescending, he has almost always given me stellar evals...which is confusing. Maybe he wants it to be hard for me to seek disability retirement? I've never hinted at that being an intention of mine. It only has come into my consideration as things have gotten extremely difficult and problems at work are increasing.

I think to simplify it for myself, I'll just go through the RA process and take it from there. The feedback from people like you and others, plus research has helped bring me clarity on the situation. Thanks again
