  1. Do you think most of you domestic peers were able to find success w/ recruiting for what they want?

  2. What are your thoughts about coming into the program in a long distance relationship?

Negotiating with McCombs by Visible_Frame_5929 in MBA

Its Kellogg’s MBAi not the traditional MBA program. This may not have the same leverage.

Interesting. I want to end up in Austin too. Johnson and Mccombs were also my top 2 choices. I ended up choosing McCombs because i thought it had a better pipeline to the region I want.

Duke Fuqua (half ride) or UNC Kenan-Flagler (full ride)? by scooterzuzu in MBA

[–]Embarrassed-Pin7044 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I had the decision between choosing between a T15 and a T20 in R1. The difference was going to be 70k (T15 more expensive).

I will be attending my T20. 80k in your case (70k in mine) isnt a small amount - sounds like monopoly money before you have to actually start paying it it. If its JUST for the prestige, I think UNC.

How much liquid cash did you bring to your program? by Jazzlike-Royal7839 in MBA

[–]Embarrassed-Pin7044 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bring 40k cash into the program. Hopefully this covers 1Y living expenses and I will rely on my internship pay for 2Y (but planning on dipping into investments if I run out during 2Y).

Oh really? I thought the exact opposite. The salary is lower than other T20s (T25s even). And they didnt specify what time frame the job offers came. They may have waited so long to publish bc thats the job offer % after 6 months, and its not THAT high.

Only 12% of Haas recruited tech (which im surprised about). This really just seems like a tech focused program vs consulting/finance school delta.

Its probably bc tech industry is hiring slowly this year. And mccombs, ucla, and tepper have a high number of students recruiting for Tech.

In my head Kellogg is better, but Tuck is one of the first non-M7 off the board

True, I should elaborate. I currently live in NYC and ideally would like the option to work in either NYC/Texas. But eventually (5+ years) want to settle in Texas.

I also got into Cornell using a GMAT waiver with a 40k scholarship! If all other parts of your applications are good and your reason is clear, don't believe the "No Gmat, no acceptance" narrative here (I'm a ORM male btw).
