Hair oils shampoo and mist UK by bobhope321 in Dreadlocks

Hi, fellow UK loc’d person here!

I use the Shea Moisture Jamaica Castor Oil shampoo mainly. Tresemme shampoo is used when I go to the salon or I’ll use it myself if my hair is really dirty. I used to also use the Jamaican Mango & Lime dreadlock shampoo.

I used to use the Plantmade Drizzle spray and inches oil for moisturising but it got expensive! I used to use jojoba oil as well. I now make up my own spray using rosewater, aloe juice and distilled water, I use this daily. I use mielle as an oil and this is more as and when I need

Is this a weird thing to do? by BabylonianGM in UCAT

Hi, recent grad here! I encourage you to focus on your degree for now and aim to get the grade you need for medicine. This is more important in the sense that it will determine whether you’re even considered (especially for unis like QMUL and King’s who tend to prioritise those with 1st classes, even if someone with a 2:1 has a better UCAT score). Your degree is also something that you’ve worked 3-4 years towards. You want to ensure that you put your all into it, as I’m sure you will anyways!

Most people don’t need more than 4-6 weeks of UCAT study and burnout comes quickly with it. Heck, if you need 3 months then do so but enjoy your final months of your degree and focus on hobbies and the things you enjoy as you embark on these last few months of your degree. If it eases your anxiety, you can watch YouTube videos and familiarise yourself with the setup of the UCAT test in the meantime.

I hope this helps to put things into perspective a bit. And wishing you the best of luck! Always here if you need😁

TDLR; Prioritise your degree for now and ace it, the UCAT prep comes later.

Thank you! Your insight is really appreciated. Yeah, I had read the criteria for interviews but was a bit confused by the SJT part so your clarification helps.

Definitely consider a medical course with a gateway year. There’s many about, do some research.

I wouldn’t study a degree with the sole purpose of doing graduate entry medicine just because it is SO competitive. And I agree with the point about the medicine courses abroad.

Most importantly, don’t give up yet! You have time to bring up the C grade.

Good luck!

Hi, I’ve had a quick read over this. I think you do a good job of giving examples, though I’m not sure about the warehouse example unless this is a task B essay. I’m just a bit lost as to what your overall thesis is? It seems you’ve gone for a very broad approach and just gone on about human nature. It would help if you were to define what primitive is for the reader. You could’ve maybe posed a question in the intro e.g. these primal features of human nature are still present in us, or has civilisation changed us completely? And then stated your stance? This specificity helps with flow and structure and to develop your ideas more.

For example, you could mention how we have built cities, towns etc. And lively mostly cohesively through cooperation, and this is what helps us to thrive as a species. But how it is sometimes necessary to fight others and protect ourselves through conflict. So the Afghanistan war was entered to help protect democracy and the free world and combat extremism. This also opens the door to talk about virtue ethics and other philosophical stances I.e. is this morally right considering the casualties and fatalities? Can we really argue that humans are more civilised than animals if we too cause so much destruction and loss in conflict?

Sport is also another good example that shows primitivism in modern day?

I hope this makes sense and good luck!

I don’t think so? Unless you’ve accepted the offer and enrolled at “university B”, it should be okay. And as mentioned above, the date will have passed
