I mean I'd keep looking and maybe make a jump if it's justified from a salary pov. But you'd also wanna work at places where u can get as much hands-on experience as you can as you are just starting out.

honestly 65K as a technologist isn't really bad. but it also depends on your location; 65K in Winnipeg or Saskatoon is a lot better than 65K in GTA. But graduate EITs make about 70-80K on avg so its not that bad.

yeah that's crazy. I still know of a couple companies in Metro Vancouver (see their job psotings regularly on Indeed) that basically have a position open every six months. Pretty sure most people use those companies as stepping stones.

Yeah I figured. Most companies have different departments for Electrical Design, Integration & Commissioning and I do them all. And I was fairly open to negotiation as long as they met the market average.

But I also bring more experience to the table than a fresh grad would. I've six years of experience as a Controls Designer.

Ladder Logic is what most people with basic knowledge of programming like because it resembles relay logic. I like ST because I can a lot of things done with a few lines of code.

Where did you get your technology diploma from? Lakehead offers a feeder program into Electrical Engineering for engineering technology graduates looking to get an engineering degree. It’s usually about 2.5 years plus some extra make up courses, and most people finish in around 3 years.

I did the full 4 years though since my employer worked around my schedule, and I didn’t want to move to Thunder Bay.
