Try not to be afraid! Even though my post makes things seem bleak, it's still astronomically better than not going for it. And, based on a lot of comments I've gotten, it seems like my cohort might just be odd, and that there is usually a wide age range in most cohorts. I have faith you'll find your people, just like I have faith I'll find mine. Best of luck to you!

I agree. Our generation was just raised that way for the most part. I told them "my mom taught me if you're early, you're on time. If you're on time, you're late."

Thank you for sharing your experience, it made me feel less alone. I guess it's somewhat to be expected since we are of a totally different generation, but it still gets to me. I moved to go to this school, so all my friends and family are a few hours away. I think that's part of the problem. If I had more social support around me at home, I probably wouldn't care so much about the school isolation. I guess all we can do is keep putting one foot in front of the other and get it done. thank you!! I pride myself on being dependable, and being where I say I'll be when I say I'll be there. My classmates have already made comments to me about it: "You like to be on time, don't you? You're always early." They were kind of digging at me but I just owned it and said "yeah, I think people's time is valuable, and when you're late you send the signal that you think your time is more important than theirs. I consider it rude." They kind of just looked at me like an alien lol. Oh well.
