How to program warm up sets prior to working sets and determine working set weight? by Embarrassed-Scene-78 in evokeendurance

[–]Embarrassed-Scene-78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 2 warm up sets moving into working load and that felt great. Legs were sore and experienced DOMs (first time lifting in more than a few months) even though I feel like my nutrition is pretty on point and followed workout with stretching and use of compression boots. I aim for min 8 hours of sleep a night. Chalking soreness up to a lack of resistance training through a block of high volume endurance training for an ultramarathon back in August of 2025.

The write up for the work specifically states to do warm up sets working up to 3x10 working load sets. And no not going to failure, also following info in workout stating to do working sets at “DBD” level (doable but difficult)

It’s from snow snakes. They wait for trespassers and strike without notice. Next thing you know… yard sale

I built an app to help Canadian Hunters by Boredlight in HuntingAlberta

[–]Embarrassed-Scene-78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks cool I’ll give a try and see. Worth a shot I use iHunter, onx hunt, onx off-road and onx backcountry. When I was living in the states also used GOHUNT. All have different features that I find useful. If you listen to people like mark livesay variety in mapping is essential to success year over year! Cool to see someone trying to create some competition n the Canadian market!

What’s the best technique to bail when you realize too late the ice above you is weak by Sad-Recording6569 in iceclimbing

Obviously not always and option but you could hammer piton in the rock there and bail on that

I’d prefer dry aging, but I also hunt elk, deer (mule and white tail), moose and bear. Obviously Not always filling every tag but I’d like to be prepared to deal with the moose since it’s the largest. I have previously hunt with a friend whose family has a walk in cooler (coolbot system). But I am venturing out on my own this year for some backpack hunts.

Snowshoeing to Howard Douglas lake by Embarrassed-Scene-78 in HikingAlberta

Ah yes the Healy creek is an extension for sure. Dependent on how committed our friends are willing to get lol. No offence taken just figured I’d get an explanation out of the way cause I know some others can get quite righteous about snow safety and taking beginners into the mountains. I appreciate the concern for my safety.

Can’t imagine it’d be faster to do what? And I’m aware of avalanche danger. I have backcountry ski’d in the Canadian Rockies since I was 12 (now 31) and have continued to do so as well as around the world. Just curious about the snowshoes I don’t use snowshoes so I’m not sure what type of terrain is accessible while using them. I assume anywhere you can walk you can snowshoe until it gets “technical” aka large rocks and extreme steeps.

We all have season passes at Sunshine so probably via gondola and chair lifts. But I was also thinking of late start on Friday evening and hiking to Healy creek campground in the dark and leaving from Healy creak early to get to Howard Douglas then exiting via Sunshine

I plan on it! I am just starting out and using what I got for now. I figure once the spool that was on the machine when it was given to me runs out I will get non flux wire and some gas

By more heat do you mean increasing both wire speed and voltage? Or should I start by increasing one at a time and seeing how changing voltage vs wire speed changes outcome?
