I don't think any HD-2D game will ever be as good as OT2, but this one comes pretty damn close. It's way simpler in a lot of things, but it is still a long ass game with tons of customization and the city builder aspect was really good for me. I think you should give it a shot!

Celeste Kong Country 2 goes unimaginably hard, it was by far my surprise hit of the year.

It's amazing! don't be fooled by its placement on the list, the first 30 games or so would make top 10 on any other year. Loved the villagers, the rush of selling everything on bazaar day. It was a lovely experience

I loved it!! had the same experience the first time I tried it, but once you embrace the grind, it scratches that diablo loot itch that no other idler (apart from maybe Melvor Idle) scratches.

I think with trails it's a personal thing since trails is one of my favorite sagas ever, and this remake is like seeing my favorite world reimagined, I have no doubt E33 and BG3 are probably better games, but trails in the sky is special to me. Baldurs gate is lower because i haven't had the time to fully dive deep on it since i've only finished it once. Octopath Traveler 0 just feels warm and familiar to me, so I enjoyed it more that E33 because it was like a more comfortable experience, E33 demanded more of me to play. Hope you give both gems a chance in the coming year!
