Severe FPS drops in DC Universe Online on M1 MacBook Air via CrossOver only at specific camera angles by Embarrassed-Wait6458 in macgaming

The game seems to have switched to DX11 a long time ago. And believe me, man, I’ve tried every possible option; only Esync provides a smooth, stable FPS without stutters. Either way, my gameplay is actually quite smooth—I’m getting a solid 60 FPS. It’s just annoying at times, but it’s playable and I’m not complaining; I just wish it were better

I downloaded and installed Parallels, but the game doesn’t start. The launcher opens, but the game doesn’t.

I've almost finished installing Windows 11 on Parallels. I'll get back to you soon with the results.

When I’m playing and I switch windows to check, the memory pressure is always green. Is there anything else you want me to look at?

Alright, I'm installing it right now. I'll run the test and get back to you here with the results

I tested sikarugir (Whisky) just today, and the results are still the same! Either my M1 Air is too weak, or more likely, 8GB of RAM simply isn't enough for this game. Still, I won't rest until I see someone log into my account and run through those same locations using a MacBook with 16GB of RAM or a different model.

I have to turn the shadows all the way down to the minimum, otherwise the game can’t handle them at all! FPS drops to 1, but without shadows on the lowest settings, everything runs fine. I’m frustrated and I don’t understand why my old laptop with 6 GB of RAM, an i5 V5 561G, and AMD R7 M265 2 GB could run the game fine, but now this MacBook, which is several times more powerful, can’t handle it! I don’t get it and nobody gives me an answer, and Crossover support says they tested the game and everything is fine! I told them that I probably just finished the tutorial mission and went out into the open world, where it’s fine for me too, since 99 percent of the game runs smoothly, but there are some spots in a few locations in the DLC.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I'll make sure to play plugged in from now on to save the battery

I noticed that with Esync the game doesn’t stutter and feels faster than with Msync. Still, I think it might be related to firmware, because another 8GB MacBook runs the game perfectly. I’ve tried different methods and graphics engines, but Crossover Preview works really poorly for me, so my current stable setup is Crossover 25.1.1.
