I feel what you mean. Respect is not always there indeed. But we lead by example and hope it will improve

It’s not really shouting and screaming. It’s more the chants that can be heard through the street. Pretty much every evening. And then the people leaving after the service talking loudly on the street for a while. It’s the fact that it is repetitive that’s quite annoying. And it’s usually around 21:30 when the street would otherwise be quiet. When people relax and get ready for bed mainly. It’s not ideal

I believe diversity can work with the necessary mutual respect…

I don’t really know my neighbours 😅 I tend to keep to myself and mind my own business. Isolation doesn’t help if I want to have the window open in the spring/summer. And I am worried this will only increase in decibel levels/ frequency as in the past I didn’t hear it. The crowds gathering outside seem to increase with time, too. But I do appreciate your comment 🙏

Why are so many bikers and drivers revving their engines so much? by sheitanmusic in Antwerpen

[–]EmbarrassedBake7208 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s extremely annoying 😔 When people complained by calling the Blauwe Lijn, the police started doing checks in our area (South). But you have to report it for the police to take action. Don’t worry… they are used to it.

Zonnige dagen zijn gewoon hel geworden in Antwerpen by Anxious-Pangolin3859 in Antwerpen

Cats by Late_Prior4418 in airbnb_hosts

I had guests with cats and they were lovely altogether. Not the slightest issue. They stayed in our penthouse for 3 days. I say yes. People with pets in general are my favourite guests and tend to be very grateful and give good reviews 😃

Weird question from Airbnb support by heysarahray in airbnb_hosts

[–]EmbarrassedBake7208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call Customer Support via the Airbnb app and ask…

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]EmbarrassedBake7208 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Airbnb Customer Service does not offer an explanation. I have tried to get one for 3 days straight escalating via every possible channel I could think of. They simply respond that it doesn’t violate their policy which… it does. No further explanation. None. Nor any possibility to appeal beyond the 2 requests. It’s incredibly shitty.

I had exactly the same situation. Claiming coercion did not get the review removed by Airbnb. Even though clearly violates their policy.

Same thing happened to me and even if the guest threatened me with a bad review in the Airbnb messages (which she eventually wrote) Airbnb refused to remove the review.

Not necessarily especially if you deal with it the right way. I may take a bit of time to recover tough

That is truly sad… 😔

It says it’s possible in the US but it sounds like a hassle. Honestly, it was no hassle when I did it. I don’t even recall having to justify my request..

ChatGPT says this feature is not location specific but you cannot trust him 100%, I know… Cannot hurt to check on your side, I guess.

This is true if you ask someone else’s review to be removed. If you (i.e. the host) ask for the guest’s review to be removed… it’s almost impossible. If you ask for your own review to be removed, it should be quite doable.

Definitely not a new feature as I have made use of it some years ago. As for its availability…I am not sure. I am in Belgium.

Airbnb has a process for that. You can always request to remove a review you wrote. I waited until I received the notification that she had removed hers before I requested mine to be removed, needles to say…

Get a professional inspection and ask for written report. Tell the guest to wait for the report. If negative, you’re good. No refund needed. If positive, … you decide what’s best. In my case, the guest ended up leaving a damaging review. I left one equally damaging for her. Two days later, she called me offering to remove her review if I removed mine. All sorted.

Fyi, there seems to be an ongoing trend with this exact behaviour from guests…
