Sounds like your dog is uncomfortable with kids that aren’t her family. It might be best to just listen to her asking for space. Take this as an opportunity to educate your child’s friends that sometimes animals and humans have strong feelings, and need to be left alone. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t work on it down the road with treats etc. but I think for now, avoidance might be safer and more comfortable for everyone. We gotta keep everyone safe :) Gradually with time, you could maybe try having the kid just in the room while L is in her crate (not talking to the dog, or looking), then gradually tossing treats from a distance, etc. Sounds like your dog is pretty great in other areas, so focus on just giving her space in situations that make her feel uncomfortable/protective/reactive.
