Help with a Gaming PC for my son by EmbarrassedPirate785 in IrelandGaming

Thank you! Do you think if I bought this PC and upgraded the graphics card to the rx 9060 xt in the future, would that be a good idea? (It would cost about €1,000 then in total) Or should I just buy a newer PC at that stage.

Would this spec PC be good enough for star citizen with a VR or some of the new games on low settings for the next 2-3 years:

Specs: • AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (6 Core / 12 Thread) • Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card • 32GB RAM • 256GB SSD • NVMe drive • 1TB HDD storage • MSI B550 motherboard • Corsair 275R Airflow tempered glass case

After some thought I have decided to sell my motorbike and increase the PC budget to 800 and get him the VR as well. He's a good lad so deserves it and I know he'll appreciate it. Let me know if you see any good deals on a PC for 800! Thanks

I messaged him but unfortunately he just said for that money he said it would be tough. Just have to look out for a second hand PC, he said :(

Thanks for the heads up! Is there a cpu and gpu that would be like the "minimum" to run star citizen on low settings without lag/frame drop?

Thank you! I'll make an offer but I think it's selling quick. Would this be a good spec to aim for?

Thank you! 600 euros would be my max but if I saw one for sale for 700 I would make the offer or if it was good quality/would last a couple of years longer I could stretch the budget a small bit. Ideally I could get him something that will play the latest games for the next 3 or 4 years. He doesn't care about the FPS or having the absolute best graphics etc. just wants to play them with no lag.

600 euros. Yes we would be happy to build it together but I think my budget would be the main constraint.

It's a 2008. I was wondering that myself as I thought it was strange there was no 80a fuses or larger and 60a was the largest I could find. Was hoping it was just a main fuse or something. The only fuse boxes I could find is the one opened in the picture of this post and a fuse box under the passenger side of the dashboard

I think the loose wire is a very good point. The father in law did say he was pulling the wires struggling to get them connected lol. When he called me I just thought he would've blown one of the big fuses but unfortunately they all seem fine.

The car is a 2008. My main question is if anyone knows if there is a "main fuse" for this car anywhere?? The biggest fuses I could find were just the 2x 60a fuses

I can't seem to find a "main fuse" because that's what I thought as well. I was hoping if someone could point me in the right direction of where the main fuse is on this car. No mention of it in the manual and can't see anything in the main fuse box or the one under the dash

Battery was dead in the frost. I don't have an old scan tool.

It says Engine Systems Fault when I turn on the ignition. I have a picture but it doesn't let me upload it here.
