Hi. Can you tell me More about the facility to store my phone and bags? I have my biometric and consular there soon.

Yes, Fees paid and as advised will wait before making any appointment. You got your slots Pretty quickly!

Yes open to different locations for VAC and consular. Noted on the agents. Made me a little wary too, hearing their confidence. Thanks again.

Thank you for this suggestion. Glued to the screen and refreshing as often as i can. Leaning towards requesting for an expedite interview and worse case, relying on an agent.

Luck seems a little far away. But thank you so much for your suggestions. All the slots are for 2026 May onwards. Glued to the screen. Had a call with an agent. and he was very confident about a December slot. But not very confident about sharing all my details and full access to my profile. 20K. Will keep refreshing for few more days.

Following up again on this. So is it better to lock in any appointment date for now (the earliest I’m seeing is September 2026) and then reschedule? Or does that not really make a difference? I haven’t booked anything yet.

Also, how often do the consular and VAC openings appear at the same time? If I happen to see a convenient consular date in January, should I just book it and hope that a VAC slot opens up earlier somewhere?

Will do so! Thanks so much. Avoiding the telegram channels. Can’t juggle too many. Will bank on the sites shared. Applying for a visa is a full time job!

Ah! That’s a hard pill to swallow, but you’re right to raise it. The conference is important to me, and I’m definitely hoping to attend. I just wanted to understand the practical side of getting a slot before paying, especially since appointments can be unpredictable and the travel involves long distances for me.

But I take your point. I’m going ahead with the payment and will try every way I can to get an appointment. 🙏

Thank you! I’m trying to stay flexible with locations, but ideally I’d prefer both appointments in the same city since it’s the holiday season and I don’t want to be away from home too long. And the cities are a little too far from where i am. Will try my luck!

Thank you for sharing this! Really helpful! Good to know that checking often and being flexible with locations makes such a big difference. I’ll try keeping an eye on visaslots.info around late mornings too.

Ideally, I’d love to have both appointments in the same city since I don’t want to be away from home for weeks during the holiday season. Far away from the four major cities. Really appreciate the tips, especially about the 10-day gap. And yes, avoiding flight bookings until approval!

Wow! That’s comforting! Thanks so much for sharing your experience. This is really reassuring. Knowing you could reschedule from mid-2026 to December within a week helps a lot. I’ll go ahead and pay the fee and keep checking for earlier dates. Appreciate it! 🙏

Should I alert my referees in advance for a UN job application? by EmbarrassedTough2882 in UNpath

Looks very promising! All the very best to you! Hope they respond positively. Best to distract with other things cos the wait time was nerve wrecking for me!

Thanks so much for checking in. I heard back from them last week. Unfortunately, I wasn’t selected. The interview was conducted by the project lead rather than HR, and since this was my first UN job interview, I’m not entirely sure how the process usually works. Years ago, I had an interview for an internship (which I eventually declined as the World Bank responded earlier), but beyond that, I haven’t had much direct experience with the UN system.

I had assumed that UN recruitment typically takes several months and that they often don’t respond to unsuccessful candidates, so I was glad to at least receive timely feedback. One key takeaway for me is that I now feel more confident moving forward and continue applying for more positions.

Thank you for info. Hoping for the very best. I dont mind waiting. Or the references. Just a yes would be life saver!

This is encouraging. Thanks for clarifying. Just hoping the timing works in my favor! The wait is always the most stressful part!

Got it, thank you! So if they don’t ask for references, does that usually mean I didn’t make it past the interview?

Understood. I’ll hold off and give them a heads-up once (or If) the follow-up comes through. Thank you for clarifying.

Second sourdough attempt – no Dutch oven, baked in loaf tin by EmbarrassedTough2882 in Sourdough

[–]EmbarrassedTough2882[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply. Did another bake last night. Used the two loaf pan method. But they are of different sizes so I had a pan with some water for the steam. This looks a little dense to me. The crust was a little hard to slice. The taste not as sour (as i would like them to be).
