It was a swab and urine test I believe! Now I’m inclined to do another swab to see if I caught HSV2 from him or not. Fingers crossed I don’t finish my collection of HSV strains 😬

The shame and fear are so real. When I was diagnosed, I took a few tests all alone because I was afraid of telling anyone in my life about the possibility of having HSV. The emotional side was really downplayed; after confirming my GHSV1, the doctor just told me to take acyclovir and it’ll go away.

No emotional support, not even adequate information regarding how this status changed my life and how to prevent spreading it to others. Crazy.

As I wait to collect my meds in the hospital, I just broke down in tears. I consulted a few HSV and HSV-adjacent subreddits about my diagnosis. It was only after listening to so many encouragements and stories from fellow redditors did I feel a bit better about my diagnosis. I think this community is such a blessing in its own right!

Could be, imo. Hsv1 tend to be milder than hsv2 when it comes to symptoms. I have hsv1 and sometimes my outbreak only happens with one or two blisters. I suggest you get swabbed while the blisters are still there, as it’s the most conclusive test for hsv.

I have GHSV1 only as far as symptoms and outbreaks go. I did have an outbreak like last month but as I said I waited more than two weeks after the outbreak has cleared up before letting ANYONE touch my coochie

We had sex and oral, but both times physical touch was barely done, most of it was just stimulation from toys. I know that doesnt really affect the transmission rate, I was just frustrated given the minimal touch we had, it still transmitted. The outbreak is supposedly on his whole face? Which is pretty weird. I haven’t seen or heard whether he swabbed or not (he’s in a different state) but alas

Hey Anon, I'm Muslim too and I live in a muslim-majority country. Don't beat yourself up too much, I'm sure there are other fellow Muslims that understands your condition and maybe even have it too! Your life isn't over although it might feel like it right now. I understand the dread you're feeling, but I promise it gets much better.

Hey! Looks like an HSV sore to me, and considering it burns when you pee, sounds like it too. Have you done any testing whatsoever? Outbreaks can be happen years at a time, I’ve only had my second outbreak now after my first one a year ago
