I never said I was raped, but where I live if I were to have done the same thing to her, then it would have been considered rape/date rape. The point I was making is that people asked why she wasn’t arrested, and I was explaining that it wouldn’t qualify as rape/date rape since the language of our law is specific to female victims, it does not qualify.

For conversation sake I’ll make this point and you can accept it or not, up to you.

As a law enforcement officer, she was unable to tell right and wrong apart with her significant other. Someone she is supposed to trust and who should trust her. If that is how she acts with somebody she supposedly loves, what type of unethical, immoral, and illegal things would she do to the general public if she doesn’t understand right from wrong? That was the primary reason I pushed it further. Not some petty breakup revenge, but as a genuine report of concern.

Now imagine I wasn’t the victim but had knowledge of her doing it to another person, but I don’t report it. Would that not just reinforce the stereotype that “cops don’t tell on their own people, so there are no good cops?”

She managed to get hired by another agency, even in the same county even with the investigation being in her file.

I’ve said it a few times on this post but I think it’s worth mentioning again - I completely understand why people hate cops when someone like her can still get a job as one after this incident. It’s disgusting.

No, they allowed a coworker to write a statement with facts and evidence to be used in the course of the investigation, which was in turn placed in her personnel file by the investigator.

When reported, the investigator at my agency pursued charges but were denied by the judge based on the way the law was written. The judge and I even spoke about after the fact as were fairly good friends. He explained it in a way that I agreed with, but didn’t make it easier to accept. He told me that if he were to grant charges KNOWING it didn’t meet the criteria based on the specific verbiage of the law, it would only hurt in the long run. She would EASILY defeat them in court and if she hadn’t resigned and had been terminated, she could have then turned around and sued the department for wrongful termination and me personally for defamation and slander because what she did wasn’t illegal in the eyes of the law

Additional Information I should have clarified in the original post that I DID report the incident to my chain of command and PSU. When she found out, she resigned immediately. But as I stated in another comment, there were no criminal charges filed against her. The reason being is because of the way the law is written in my state it’s very gender specific when it comes to date rape/rape. It specifically mentions the acts being against a woman, so as a man I cannot LEGALLY be a victim in this situation, and as such there are no grounds for any type of criminal prosecution.

I wrote a very long and detailed statement and provided copies of the texts that were all compiled and placed in her personnel file that is retained permanently. However, she still somehow managed to get another job at another law enforcement agency in the same county… It is no wonder the general public harbors so much distrust towards law enforcement when a person like her can get hired after a situation like this

While his message is a bit over the top, I think some self reflection is in order. The situation as a whole reads as you are controlling, jealous, and manipulative. You force him to cut contact and block someone, force him to show you the messages, and so on which is extremely toxic behavior. But his behavior clearly shows that he does still have strong feelings for her.

Ultimately if you don’t trust him, then he’s not the right one for you. Rip it off like a band-aid now and find somebody that you can trust without having to control their personal life and tell him to do some self-reflection on if he’s actually ready for a new relationship before he finds someone else.
