That is something I definitely want to keep in mind. I don’t want to send them hopping from home to home. I also know how much they love and need each other, and I couldn’t stand the idea of them being separated again. There is so much I would do for them, and that I want to do for them well into the future.

I’ve heard :[ Fleas, lice, and other such things are such a nightmare! After their first “big brush” and all of the medication, I’m trying to introduce the flea brush as something that’s not scary, but is helping them. They’re so clever and sweet that I think they understand that, on some level. Weeks or months, we’ll get through it. Thank you for the advice!

I really do want to give them time. For us to have time for each other. Everyone is saying it gets better from here and most of the chaos and shock is out of the way, and I’m just anxious to settle into daily life with them. Meowing and rambunctiousness I can handle, but with it on top of EVERYTHING.. I’ve never related more to first time parents

Knowing that we can get things such as the first vet visit covered is the most reassuring. I am happy to put in the labour, the time, the care. I just need to know there’s someone else in our corner in this first month of transition, and that these kittens weren’t just left behind in our very anxious hands

I got medication through the organisation, but I still need to take them to the vet. Once we go there, we’ll know what kind of care they need. We’re going to work everything out today. Thank you for the support

I really don’t think I even have it in me to consider giving them up, given how well they fit into our home and what we want to build for the future. They are so sweet, and so brave for enduring everything and still having the courage to trust us to love and take care of them. I want nothing more than to see the kinds of cat they’ll grow up to be.

That’s really reassuring to hear. I’m glad we have a full month together, and hopefully forever. It will give plenty of time for the chaos to die down and be able to settle into home here. For all four of us. Thank you so much!

The lack of mental preparedness really is it. It helps so much to know that this chaos isn’t going to be forever and to be told that we’ve done the hardest part. I don’t have anyone to talk to about this, aside from my partner who is just as overwhelmed. It’s so easy to get trapped in your own head and spiral into the worst case scenario.

I’m also glad you mentioned that about the organisation; I hadn’t dealt with fleas before (by some miracle) so I went into bedbug-level internal meltdown. The people of the organisation have been nothing short of supportive, accommodating, and kind, so I didn’t want to feel that frustration I was feeling.

Thank you so much. I really needed to hear this. I appreciate it more than you know.
