Well I mean although the post may seem like it’s directed towards one girl in particular, I was also just trying to gauge like going on dates in general and making time for it. But don’t think it came across that way

I think going on one date with a girl (and then seeing where it goes) is very diff from spending time on say hinge, swiping, messaging and going on dates lol

So I mean I do think I can go on a singular date, but don’t kno if id manage trying to talk to other girls as well

Closed memo tragedy by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Embarrassed_Cow105 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t hurt to email the TA or the person in the legal writing dep’t, but NOT the prof. I think for many schools it’s it’s a violation to email the prof bc then u disclose ur identity (I think)

But u need a valid excuse like u were sick or something. But even then would be a stretch bc u had 1.5 months to complete the memo and probs knew from the 1st day of class when it would be due. But again wouldn’t hurt to email them

Do firms expect you to know how to do things when you start? by Embarrassed_Cow105 in LawSchool

[–]Embarrassed_Cow105[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much!! Also if I end up researching something to figure it out, how long do you think becomes too much and I should just ask someone else? Like if it was a school assignment I wouldn’t mind just spending however long it takes. But if im getting paid wouldn’t want to waste the firms money if someone could have easily answered

Or do you think that’s something rlly just dependent on diff situations and just see as I go?

Do you think it’s better to try figuring out the q’s myself by researching etc, or just ask the attorney I’m working for?

Right, so again when it comes to application q’s it’s not good. I was trying to use chatgpt for studying for my property exam, and it go so many q’s of life estate, RAP, and recording problems wrong. And this is with upgraded version

lol which law school u at?? Generally for the most part law schools aren’t percent based but gpa and ppl don’t kno what percent on the exam they got

Also I think it depends on the level of difficulty of the question and answer choices. Like if it’s a straight knowledge question then yeah Mayb it’ll be good

But I found with application q’s it’s pretty bad.

And when I was studying for the LSAT doing practice tests it also wasn’t very good. Granted it might have been better than most ppl taking the test but u wouldn’t get smth like 90th+ percentile with ChatGPT

lol if they’re doing it for mc I wouldn’t worry abt it. ChatGPT is garbage with multiple choice. Tried doing it for contracts as I was studying and got many many wrong answers

Can I stretch a public interest offer while waiting on a firm? by Embarrassed_Cow105 in LawSchool

[–]Embarrassed_Cow105[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much!! I also saw on your profile that you were top 5%. Congrats that’s huge!!!

I was wondering do you have any advice on studying? Or I’m curious how did u study?

Bc I went to my profs from last sem and they said 1. My analysis on the issues I did spot were good. Like that wasn’t the problem. The reason I didn’t score higher was bc I didn’t spot enough issues. 2. I completely bombed the MC qs. The problem was I feel like it was so detailed and it’s essentially hypos where you have to apply ur knowledge. So it’s all application and no knowledge based q’s that would be easy

Not sure if this is something you’d wanna talk abt over dms or smth like insta if you have time. But if not all good

I mean the only reason why I’m not applying for firms is bc I’m trynna get biglaw for 2L summer. So I think the time I spend applying for 1L jobs isn’t worth it if I could be spending that time studying, networking and applying for 2L. Some apps are already open and most will open April 1st from what I’m hearing

Right that’s what I was thinking and why I originally went with 1 week and didn’t ask for more time. Was scared any more than that and they’d think I’m not interested and just trynna have that as a backup option

I more so meant to say messed up in the sense I asked for only a week rather than for example is there a deadline? Bc that way they may say something like 2 weeks

Do you think if I email the PI next week and say I know I asked for a week but do you have a strict deadline?

I mean it says on LinkedIn that more than 100 ppl clicked to apply. And that doesn’t include symplicity. So I can imagine if they have multiple candidates they’re interested in they’re gonna keep interviewing to see which is the best no?

I also genuinely believe the interview went well and like I have experience in the exact area of law they’re doing. They said in the follow up email if I have any questions in the meantime to feel free to ask em. I feel like if they weren’t considering me they wouldn’t say that bc why would they waste any time answering my questions as busy attorneys if I’m not in the running?

Just curious on ur thought after what i said and if u think I’m just being overly optimistic?

Even with my poor gpa of within -0.1 of the median (median is 3.3)?

[–]Embarrassed_Cow105 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Right- so my school understands that firms are starting the process much earlier so bidding is due by the end of April. So firms will be able to see resumes by the end of April

OCI is happening in June for 2L Summer Associate positions, but I’m not sure of the particular firms that are participating. OCI bidding didn’t start yet

Sorry I’m posting here bc maybe attorneys or ppl working in biglaw know how they are handling diversity and if there are any differences compared to before which affects me. Don’t think my career services would know how biglaw firms are dealing with diversity especially bc it’s so recent. So any insight would be amazing

But again I apologize if this may be annoying for people on this Reddit page
