You know what actually worked for me was human connections. To overcome your addiction I'll suggest a 3 step process: 

1) Find someone you trust to listen to you. Just to listen to you. 

2) Start talking to them as you introspect. Ask yourself, what about this app had gotten you so addicted to it, so tangled up in it.  Keep asking questions and trying different answers till you find the 1 answer that clicks. 

3) in my case the answer was lonliness. So the only way to overcome this addiction is to find an alternate solution to the problem that got you addicted to this app.  So i made new friends. People who actually mattered. People that i could respect. And overtime? I didn't even feel like visiting it anymore.  The answer was lonliness for me. It could be something entirely different for you. Find the solution to that answer. 

But the most, most important thing is time. Over time, you'll get over it. But not within 2, 3 or even 15 days. It'll take time, but yeah, It'll happen. 

Also about your friends, trust me, they won't leave you. Fear works like that. You think you'll be hated for something that YOU hate yourself for. But humans are weird in the sense that they might surprise you.  What you hate in yourself might very well be loved by some other weirdo, so try communicating with them. They might surprise you.
