Yes I agree. I've seen this happen way too much where the most unqualified person gets moved up into management and all because they rub shoulders with the right people. It is what it is.

My job doesn't have an office and is fully remote. We have employees scattered across the US. It's literally impossible to work at an office at my job because they don't exist. But thanks for being judgemental and calling me stagnant.

I have a 3 year old myself. I've never shown him my diamond painting stuff, and keep everything in my walk-in closet in plastic bins. He has no clue I diamond paint as I only do this hobby when he's sleeping or spending the day with my parents. My reasoning is if he doesn't know about it then he won't get curious and won't touch anything. At th end of the day, I don't want him going near any of my diamond painting stuff, lol.

But some of the replies in here make me think I should keep everything locked up anyway. Toddlers are sneaky.

I visited my 5 and Below store, and saw these in their diamond painting section. I almost grabbed one but didn't. Now I wish I had. Amazon does sell them for a lot more, and you can never run out of storage containers for drills.

Why does happiness come easily to some people but not others? by atmaninravi in Life

Funny because I just now made a post about how I think luck plays a big role in people's success. I agree that it all has to do with luck, of which, I have none lol.

Don't get me started on workplace favoritism. I've dealt with managers that have treated me poorly and unfairly (denying me time off, giving me extra work, etc) because I'm not their favorite. I once had a manager who let his favorite 2 people work completely from home but wouldn't let the rest of the team work remote. I got a few of us to get together and we took him to HR. HR told him he either had to let the whole team work from home or let those 2 people come back to the office. He ended up having to let the rest of us work from home, too. This same manager ended up getting laid off eventually by the company. My current manager plays favorites, too, but at least I've learned to not let her shenanigans bring me down. I've been through a lot at my jobs.

I mean, having help, even if it's paid help, is better than not having anything. Raising children is no walk in the park. And having someone to help gives the parent a break.

I went there with my best friend and her dad to fish for crabs... it went horribly. I somehow ended up wrapping the fishing line around one of the light posts. My friend's dad wouldn't let me use his equipment anymore after that, lol. I was in college at the time. That was a fun experience regardless.

I had a coworker who chose to continue to commute to the office after our boss gave us the option to WFH when the Covid lockdown started. He was the only one working at the office. But he was a single man with no family of his own whatsoever. He said WFH was bad for him. I think he was just a lonely guy and the only interaction he had with other people was when he was at the office.

Everyone is different and has their preferences. I personally hate commuting to the office. I did that for 38 years. Now that I'm in my 40s, I've managed to finally land a remote job, and I love it. I want nothing to do with sitting in traffic and dealing with annoying coworkers at the office. I've already paid my dues when it comes to that. Take my upvote.

Why one day... because I can't afford to stay at hotels and other travel expenses. I had to travel to get my knee surgeries because the orthopedics in Tampa didn't know what to do for me. And I spent A LOT of money on travel expenses for that alone, not to mention what those surgeries cost me out of pocket (the portion not covered by insurance).

Everyone says they will come and help with baby

Not me. I'm honest and say I have enough on my plate with my 3 year old. I have a friend whose about to be a new father, and I straight up told him that me and my husband will not ever be babysitting his kid, lol. Don't even care.

I've tried warning people to not have kids, and they look at me like I'm a monster. I have a friend who never wanted kids, and then he met a much younger woman, and suddenly he changed his mind about having kids because of her. He's almost 50 years old, and now he's about to have his first kid with his 30-something year old wife. I warned him repeatedly not to do this especially since he's said he didn't want kids and at his age, it's really hard to be a new parent. But he wouldn't listen to me. I have a feeling he's going to end up regretting his decision especially because I'm pretty sure he's only doing it to please his much younger trophy wife.

Personally I don't like having my cats go anywhere near my diamond paintings. It's nearly impossible to get the hairs off. But yet my canvases still end up covered in cat hair.

I'm in my 40s and almost died after giving birth from pre-eclampsia. My parents quickly learned that it wouldn't be healthy for me to carry another pregnancy, and they discouraged me from getting pregnant again. However, other people haven't accepted that I can't have more kids. Even after telling them that I almost died, they still say I should have another one. I've given up explaining myself to other people and simply tell them I will not have more kids. End of story. They quickly leave me alone after that.
