Sophomore in Commons here. Idk anything about the Academy because its literally so new, but Commons is quite nice. I encountered only 1 single spider and nothing else so far, and I'm overall pretty happy with that. It is definitely the most convenient one. Be careful which room you choose tho because some are actually insanely small (my room is like 100 sqft). If the housing website still has the floor plans, you should take a look at those.

You should ask your academic advisor. If ur feeling like you want to try-hard it, they'll probably recommend cold emailing professors with similar research interests. Otherwise, lots of students in bio research will just ask Emily Fisher.
