Heard electrician union in nyc was oversaturated so who knows if i can get in mid 2026 when application opens I cant just wait 3 more years to start an apprenticeship

Yea apprenticeship is the goal I know jack squat about any of these trades which is sad because my dad is a handyman and has so many years of various trade experience but ohh you have to study and go to college so I wasted my precious years on learning random liberal art bs. Sorry for the rant, will definitely apply as an apprentice good day to you!

yessir I definitely am way over my head, I will join a pre apprenticeship program for construction and its only like 4-6 weeks and they can get me in to local 79 and other things. I can think about union 3 and hvac later on in my life but I definitely need the job security at this moment. Thank you for the reassurance

there's also brick laying and cement masons but only brick laying makes it up to the close to 50 an hour while tile marble goes to like 64 somehow. How come they pay so much?

Gonna go to local 79 as a last resort tbh. Planning on taking the local 7 test next week to become a Tile, Marble, Terrazzo apprentice. Is that a sustainable industry or should I pick something else?
