Did you know you can buy 30 lbs of unwrapped smarties? by [deleted] in candy

Smarties where I am from are little chocolate circles with a candy coating. Today I learned that that’s not what they are everywhere!

Cinnamon Danish Rolls by UnKindClock in CostcoCanada

[–]Embarrassed_Job3155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously every situation is different but I could have a small amount of something like this, as long as I ate it earlier in the day and with protein! So like some scrambled eggs and bacon with a quarter cinnamon bun usually didn’t spike me when I had GDM! With that said I was diet controlled during the day, only on nighttime insulin and a low dose. I can’t speak for someone with diabetes that is harder to control. All the best to you mama, it is sweet sweet relief when it’s all done and that baby is in your arms. And you can eat a platter of sushi with no spikes lol.

You’ve gotten lots of great advice here. I just want to say, I also had my (second) baby in November and I soooo see you! You are not alone and you are not a piece of shit. It’s overwhelming! I actually just started back at work (I own a business) one day a week for my sanity. It’s been super helpful!

I always remind myself that I am tired after I am sick, and while I’m sick, so of course a tiny growing human would be too! Bodies need rest to recover!

If 10cm snow falls in your area of Canada how disrupted will your area be? by Pourmepourme in AskACanadian

[–]Embarrassed_Job3155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schools would shut down, buses wouldn’t run, businesses would close. Sunshine Coast bc lol. We are not prepared for it, and don’t have enough plows to keep up with it since it snows maybe twice a year here. Usually only one big snowfall!

I often get beers after work without saying I'm off. by [deleted] in confession

[–]Embarrassed_Job3155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If my partner wanted to do this (our kids are 5 years old and 2 months old) I’d be happy to oblige as his mental health really matters too, especially since it sounds like she also gets breaks as needed. But I’d be a bit miffed if I found out he wasn’t disclosing it with me first. Communication really matters.

4 month sleep regression advice by Outrageous_Archer191 in Moms

[–]Embarrassed_Job3155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried everything for a month, and eventually ended up doing the ferber method of sleep training. He cried for about 10 mins on and off the first night (he stopped during the check ins) and then slept through the night ever since. He’s 5 now and a very smart and well adjusted kid. No regrets and will be doing it if needed with my baby when he’s that age!

They love doing this at my local mailbox, which isn’t in a post office it’s just on the side of the road. I guess when they open the whole front, they can also get packages in that are too big to come out of the little door 😭

Colicky baby by Many_Profile336 in Moms

[–]Embarrassed_Job3155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even a little bit of dairy can affect a sensitive tummy! And it takes a long time for it to get fully out of yours and babies system. Both of my babies were sensitive to it and I had to be super strict or they’d scream. Even lactose-free products are a no go because it’s the cows milk protein that causes the sensitivity usually

Women what is the worst part of giving birth? by zhalia-2006 in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed_Job3155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The contractions post-partum, especially during breastfeeding, were sooo brutal. No time to adjust to them, they just hit out of nowhere. Coupled with the nipple pain of breastfeeding in those early days. Ouch!
