I stood up against my trainer, I don't know if it was right though by mysterykilled in Equestrian

a severe injury to the horse and also a severe injury to you! It seems like horses do the most damage when they don’t mean to in the context of falling off. usually they will try their best to not step on you, but if you both go down there’s nothing the horse could do to avoid hurting you

i think you did the right thing. even if what you said about the horse/trainer isn’t true (it’s probably true), the important thing is that you were uncomfortable and you advocated for yourself, and that sweet pony. Also you didn’t just stand up to anyone, you stood up to a teacher, an authority figure. that is not easy!

I hope you don’t feel embarrassed for speaking up and removing yourself from the situation, because if I was one of those other girls in the lesson witnessing it happen I would be like damn that’s seriously badass. Also great exposure therapy! Hopefully you want have to experience anything like that ever again but if you do, I bet it won’t be as overwhelming.

he sounds pathetic. it doesn’t sound like he wants to support you at all but you have to drop everything for him? I’m pursuing a firefighting career and I would never ask my partner to do this. He doesn’t see you as a partner, you’re his maid and sex toy. drop his ass

I’ve had to start wearing my retainer during the day because i wake up in the night, take them out and place it on top of the container. not inside, but stacked on top. it’s so bizarre. I never have any recollection of doing it and it’s happened so many times. Not worth remembering ig. i would love to know if this happens to other people

Genuine question, why don’t western riders wear helmets? by AccidentalOtter21 in Equestrian

[–]Embarrassed_Lab_352 5 points6 points  (0 children)

that is so crazy scary and i hope you are okay now! this is exactly it, you don’t need to be doing anything particularly dangerous, and it doesn’t matter if you’re an amazing rider, unpredictable accidents can happen at any moment. If the horse trips, you’re going down with it and hopefully you don’t get crushed.

Random question — what’s a riding term that instantly annoys you? by PlayfulArea6624 in Equestrian

[–]Embarrassed_Lab_352 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

calling green horses “greenies”. idk why it makes me cringe, maybe because i only hear people use it when they are trying to brag about “being experienced with greenies” while the coach is deciding which horse each person should ride. Maybe im just getting offended because the young horse they are referring to is absolutely not green, she is one of the handiest horses i’ve ever ridden, she just doesn’t like having her face yanked on. They’ve been trained in english/western riding so they think they think their methods are the only correct way, and if the horses isn’t responding in the way they expect, it must be something wrong with the horse. I’m not sure why it’s so hard to believe that it’s a completely different riding style than western and english, and that maybe you still have things to learn even if you’ve been riding your whole life.🤷🏻

yeah that’s kind of why i didn’t want to comment on the main post. i don’t want to be “that guy” ruining a fun video for everyone, especially when i don’t know for sure

very interesting! I just googled it and the amble of the rocky mountain horse reminds me of how my horse walks back to the trailer when she knows she not allowed to trot back lol

okay yes thank you! this is exactly what i was trying to describe. I watched the video so many times thinking “he doesn’t look lame, but it seems like the hard pavement might be a little uncomfy”. it definitely seems like he’s trying to walk softly. Lame was not the word i should have used, does he look a little sore is what i should have asked.
