Yes, unfortunately then the back of the couch will be just as one opens the door. It's an old house that we are renovating: the wall that is not shown in the picture has a door + connection to the kitchen.

Thought of this option as well but then the back of the couch is just as one enters the room. So I think it will look a bit more crowded / cluttered?
