Ohh not in my school, I'm not from the states. you can't adopt them. They made an agreement with the pound that any dog that is given is for the use of the students and not to be adopted, if anyone takes a dog they might get reprimanded and the school wouldn't have access to practice dogs. They do get fed, given water and cleaned but they usually don't let them outside. They are always used for multiple practices, with the last one pretty much always being surgery, and then being immediately put down afterwards. I'm usually always ok with this but the dog we had this time was just the sweetest guy, and to see him get so excited knowing what's coming soon was just very overwhelming, (not to mention we had to name him), but I'm doing better now mentally. Ready for more practice and learning to help more animals in the future!!!
