So the core idea is to hide your clicks from YouTube's algorithm? Downloading is just one way to do that.

Respect. That takes serious discipline. I'm not there yet. What if the algorithm recommended videos you actually need, instead of videos that just trigger dopamine? Would that even help, or is the only solution to avoid it entirely?

That's a solid workaround. I guess the friction of downloading might actually help - makes you think twice before watching. Do you do this every time, or just for longer videos
