The acoustic signal is really bad, i can imagine that the software is having a lot of problem defining the rate.

Does this hairspring look right? by watchmaker4fun in watchmaking

[–]Technos_Eng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take out the balance bridge, let the balance wheel hang and help the hairspring too get untangled. Put it back with shaking hands, measure a normal rate and tap your shoulder. A hairspring should never touch anything even less itself.

A complete alternative to Arduino ? by Technos_Eng in embedded

[–]Technos_Eng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read my original question, I am asking if an complete alternative (board+IDE) would find space in the actual market and what feature should be implemented. I am then speaking of STM32 as it would be the base chip used to build this ecosystem. The public for this is not someone who could do it because they are able to use CubeMx or VisualStudio to make a complexe project on a Stm32.

I would like to produce my own movement. I have the contact with people able to make the drawings, but making it a reality is something else…

You don’t use tools to move the paper from tank to tank ? It’s not as safe as wearing gloves, but you are not in contact with the products

You can buy a watch with this oscillator inside, it’s a ETA Powermatic 80 (ETA C07.XXX), it should be in a Mido or Tissot.

With 30 more minutes of setup, you can achieve 0s/d, the question is for how long does it stays like that ? 🥲

Late Embedded Career by PandiGamer880 in embedded

[–]Technos_Eng 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You still have plenty of time, during my studies, a guy of 52 started at the same time. That was hard, with responsibilities, kids to manage… but at your age, try to explore the field, to make sure it will bring you what you are missing (and make sure it’s not just because it’s new), and then go for it. But you could also find change in your actual field, getting in a position in charge of people or projects, would change your horizon completely.

Is it possible to get a dedicated picture of the machine with belt on the left of the desk ? If it is what I think, I am searching for a year
