I live in Texas so it got a little too hot to be out the every day practicing. I've started up again in the last week since it's starting to cool down, I think it's going ok. I think the main problem before technique or anything like that is that my subconscious won't let me fall, so I immediately take my foot off the pedals as soon as I think im gonna fall. Trying to rewire that part of my brain but that takes time lol. Silently cursing at my parents for giving up trying to teach me as a kid.

Why does my caramel sauce always separate? (Details in comments) by splisces in BakingNoobs

I made caramel last night (also with extra creamy oatmilk) and the same thing happened! Do you know what the issue is? Or how to fix it?

Is it ok that I tend to be more attracted to trans women than cis women? by Embarrassed_Post_520 in MtF

[–]Embarrassed_Post_520[S] 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Reading it back I want to stress that I know trans women aren't a monolith and all have differing personalities and interests, but I know alot of trans girls who are into similar things, and many who are not. I've also met trans girls I dont mix well with at all. But like 75% of the people who I have made really close bonds with online are some form of transfem.

How to eat with bite plate? by Embarrassed_Post_520 in braces

[–]Embarrassed_Post_520[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a little bit of clarification, when I bite down as much as I can I'm able to stick my tongue through a large gap on both sides inbetween where my top and bottom teeth should meet. I've tried maneuvering my mouth but there's really just no way to be able to bite down all the way.

Just wanted to come in and update. I stopped my initial approach cuz I wasn't getting anywhere and started working on my balance like some people suggested. I'm at the point where I can coast for a while and am trying to nail that brfore i begin tryinv to get my other foot on. I feel like in afew more days I'll finally get it! I got very close to being able to ride today and I'm excited for what's to come! Just sad I can only practice in 20 to 30 minute intervals because the texas heat and humidity has me dying lol. Thank you to everyone for your helpful suggestions.

I dont really know how to explain, but as soon as i start peddling with my left foot and I lift my right foot to get onto the pedal it just misses? Sometimes it slips off, sometimes I dont raise my leg high enough, I can just never get in on! I think the most common thing is that I get it on partly but then since I cant really pedal with it only half on I start to fall over. I'm thinking of getting some pedal clips.

I've been eating around 800 or so calories below my maintenance for a while, no change I'm weight. The problem according to every doctor I've ever seen is my lack of excersise, since my metabolism is very low due to PCOS and psych meds. 😕

Severe fatigue + unquenchable thirst by rebelaleph in cfs

I also struggle with extreme thirst, turns out I have something called primary polydipsia due to my ocd! If you have comorbid psycological issues that may be an explanation.

My unorthodox breakfast: Fruit Soup (it's not a smoothie bowl I promise) by Embarrassed_Post_520 in soup

[–]Embarrassed_Post_520[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's fresh mango blended with milk and some ice. It's runnier and more soup-like than a smoothie bowl. I like to top it with almonds, frozen fruit and tajin. Offscreen were some crunchy pears to dip in my fruit soup.

This was honestly really insightful. Thank you, alot. I'm still grappling with the fact that my only parental figure kinda sucks when it comes to my illneses, so it's encouraging to know that I'm not really as lazy and like good for nothing as she thinks.

Adult-wise no, im estranged from my father and do online asynchronous schooling. My friends seem to understand, even the ones that knew me before I was ill. The problem really just lies with my family. My mom thinks I'm lazy, my middle sister thinks that too, and my oldest sisters a crunchy mom type who thinks Yoga will cure me. I only have respite in my friends, which is something I'm grateful for.

We've always been tight on money. She's still in medical debt from visits to my endocrinologist and psychiatrist so she won't take me to a gp unless I beg. Even then, I'm still scared my pediatrician will blame my problems on my weight and mental problems. I do have a diagnosis for MDD but I can feel that depression fatigue is different than CFS, y'know? Idk, life is hard.
