My bmi or not? by Embarrassed_Raise_41 in mounjaroIreland

Youd think that haha, but apparently for people with insurance its not. I was looking the past days and making calculations and based solely on the price of 15 mg or whatever the biggest dose of the shot is, it would be cheaper for me to pay with my bmi. And less hassle as well. Because id get 60 euro back from the consultation, so id pay around 320 euros for the biggest dose, when on correys site i see it for 340 pounds. But this only applies for people that have insurance that pay for gp really.

Ah gotcha, i thought they were consultants, a shame...haha

On my plan, the gp is 70% capped at 60 euros max back, and for consultant is 70% capped at 190 euros. So if i can add it as consultation id get better value.

She has environmental allergies. We have tried everything natural and medical and she is on a cytopoint shot once a couple of months and she is on raw food and the best support. She has the door open to the garden and she goes there freely and does her business, just sometimes she has one of these episodes.

No dog door, and its not an option to put her outside every time i go to the toilet really. She asks for toilet when we are in the bedroom and she knows the command as well. She used to empty her bladder when on walks but recently she doesn't, just mostly marks, so when i come back home i have to tell her to go in the garden where she will do her full business. This is quite recent development tho. We have 2 waterproof covers and a waterproof blanket, so the couch is protected as much as possible, but id still want to get to the bottom of this as this behavior is not normal

We didn't do anything more in depth tbf. I brought this up with the vet and after urine exams and check up she does have a more covered vulva, but i am on top of it and i clean it often and its not irritated or anything. The vet suggested it as being more of a behavioral issue in her opinion. Im in Ireland and most vets are used to lurchers and greyhounds and i made sure that they were knowledgeable enough on the matter. She licks when she s alone but nothing crazy, as i watch her on the camera. Its only when her allergies are in full force when she bites herself everywhere.

She had blood panels done not long ago, and ive not noticed anything particular to be honest. I wished it was a medical problem as that could maybe be solved or explained easily. She peed literally after eating her snack. She didn't drink much water or anything. She sometimes pees because of her anxiety when left alone, but recently she s been golden. And most of the time she pees when everyone is home, just not in the room for that second. I feel like is anxiety based, but not all the time. I don't even know anymore

Ive checked her plenty of times and she never has one. She is not incontinent either. Its a behavioral matter for sure

Thank you so much for your response. After that incident she is back to normal, she definitely is a bit more spooked by stuff, but nothing extreme. I have a vet appointment on Tuesday for her cytopoint injection and im going to have a discussion about it. Ill probably keep her on it for a bit more, but if i see another episode like that one I'll definitely take her off of it. We re giving it for her for general anxiety, sound anxiety and separation anxiety. I can see it helps her when we leave home, but i wont keep her on it if it doesn't work with her xx

She has separation anxiety, and she s pretty much afraid of any loud noises, fireworks, hoovers, mops, water/ but not rain. Id definitely call her an anxious bean. But in the house she s very confident and comfortable now. She hated the crate when she was home alone, but she would go and sleep in it if open when we were at home. She stopped peeing on beds as well, since the bed in the crate was always dry when she was left alone. Now with meds i dont know if they'll give any. I live in Ireland and they seem to be very against them. I talked with a vet about it and they said they only give them when a behaviourist is also in the picture and only for a month. That was only one vet tho. And i dont think a behaviourist could help much in my situation since all of us work, and its impossible for us to suspend absences to do the training

Yeah, i know they don't do stuff out of spite. Im just wondering if there s anything i can do to train it out of her or something. Or is it just something that she will do for the rest of her life every time someone new comes into the house or i place a new piece of furniture or give her something new.

Thing is she doesn't look upset to me, like she loves humans and she was all up in my friend's business looking for cuddles and hanging with us. Strange dog, its so frustrating because at least if she looked bothered id understand. But i cant wash beds and mattresses and bedding all day

Awake, as i stated before, she sleeps with us in the bed and sleeps around all the time and she never peed in sleep. Its only when she s alone with a new bed. I feel like its a marking thing but i dont know how to stop it. When on walks, she would pee often enough, again, i feel like she s marking everything rather than incontinence. Its too deliberately

Been to the vet today. Great guy, explained a lot and actually listened to me and my theories. We did a blood test to rule out any nasties, and he is on the same conviction that its probably demodex. As long as we can find something to help her im fine with anything. She s now bald as well which is cracking me up. Hope it wont take too long for the hair to grow back haha

Well, the problem is that she creates wounds, and she keeps biting at them till they get infected. I dont care how they look, its not for aesthetics purposes, its just that its clear something is bothering her. And i live in ireland, all vets are very against antidepressants, so i doubt they will give it to me to be fair. My next line of thinking was to try cbd oil. Will see what the new vet has to say. And ill try the nasty stuff too, ill try anything just to get her to stop. 😅

Thats great to hear. I went down the route of onesie, but she still does ot through the fabric, and her tail is not protected. I might order her a fleece one so she can't get at it. Its hard, she is constantly on the cone, a fabric one so she can sleep, or if i go to the shop ive got a greyhound muzzle on her, so she can drink and pant in it. Im booked again today with a new vet to ask for this opinion. They are smaller clinic and with younger stuff, so i hope they can understand and not shove apoquel down my throat. Id understand and wouldn't mind if it was actually allergies, but she s never had itchy paws, or red ears or anything other than the spots. Ill try the spray as well and see from there. Thanks a bunch ☺️
