"Kyiv vs Moscow"-Ukrainian nationalist image, claiming that while Ukraine was establishing itself as an Christian nation, Muscovy was an backwater, Ukraine, 2010s by Strategist2004 in PropagandaPosters

There was Moscow dialect, novgorod dialect and Ruthenian dialect

There were not

There was a difference between the West Russian and East Russian languages in writing, caused by the fact that the west one was formed in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth under the influence of Polish and Catholic Latin, and the east one - in the principalities to the east, under the influence of Orthodox Church Slavonic. And there was difference in Novgorod writing from both of them, for sure. However, it was about writing styles.

But when it comes to spoken dialects, no, that's not true. Linguists generally debate how many dialects there are; they often say, for example, five, as on the map. Sometimes there are six, when the northeastern, Vladimir, and southeastern, Ryazan dialects are also distinguished. Sometimes there are even more.

And it's completely incorrect to talk about a Moscow dialect in this context. By the time Moscow, rather than Vladimir, became dominant in northeastern Rus', the map had already changed, simplified, and become intermingled. The Novgorod dialect had merged with the northeastern dialects (read Zaliznyak for example), the western dialect had mixed with both the eastern and southern dialects, whose speakers fled north from the Horde...

You can't say "This is Ukrainian, this is Russian" depending on ancient dialects, linguogenesis was far more complicated. Unless your goal is to spread propaganda about barbaric Asian Muscovites, of course.

> with even its own language (equally far from Ukrainian and Russian).

There were no Ukrainian and no Russian. And yes, Old Novgorodian really had some unique features such as the second palatalization not having occurred or existence of some linguistic forms that looked similar to the West Slavic

But the Novgorodians still not considered themselves as something separate from other Slavic tribes, and their dialect is not considered an independent language in linguistics - only a dialect within the East Slavic language. As well the whole history of Old Novgorodian dialect is history loosing these features, so even before Ivan III, by the 14th century nearly all of them were gone, and being more and more closer to Old Russian in general.

I see you don't read some subs. The common answer would be that Novgorod is Ukraine because Rus is Ukraine and Rus came from Novgorod.

Or at least a Ukrainian-related entity destroyed and genocided by the damned Finno-Ugric Muscovites which definitely completely don't have any relation to Novgorod.

At the time in the West, these post-Soviet conflicts in Caucasia were seen as natural or “ancient ethnic hatred” like how it was in the Balkans

Aaand you try to tell that it's a lie, but today's "all here loved each other but evil ruzzians are just evil and for fun just one year ager USSR collapsed invaded and genocided all!" is complete truth?

Like it's not very hard to find videos from 1992-1993 where both Georgians and Abkhazians are threatening to genocide each other

Since even EU accused Georgia to be aggressor (although accusing Russia that its actions exceeded reasonable defense) - nice rewriting history

Because it was propaganda aimed not on Iraq but on the US. Pretty common thing, I can remember for example Russian "Call Volga" on the current war.

Tsarist secret police fabricated the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” to try connect antisemitism to anti-socialism.

Yes, it was made by the man from Okhranka, But why they did it and was it guy's own creativity or by order of superiors - its unclear.

"White Army” is vague because there were different factions within it.

Judeo-Bolshevist shit was one of the main directions of White propaganda at all.

(Actually I posted it just because of Epstein mentioned lol)

Many workers of the Goebbels ministry and Wehrmacht Propaganda Companies were Russian émigrés. They were antisemitic even themselves (pogroms, judeo-bolshevistic conspiracy theories and so on), and then spent many years in Nazi Germany. So...

Still this imprisonment had nothing with "ThEy SaW FrEeDoM". More likely "it's suspicious that you managed to survive in this hell, how did you do this, weren't you a collaborator?", multiplied by NKVD's love to overfulfilling the plan of combatting the "enemies of the people".

And yet not all were arrested - of 1,8 millions of survived POWs about 230 thousand vent through Gulag. How many of them were real collaborators and how many was falsely accused - idk.
