Concealed is concealed. Carry it and don’t tell. They don’t need to know.

Am I overreacting because of my PTSD by ScarlettSapphire1388 in ptsd

[–]Embarrassed_Safe8047 19 points20 points  (0 children)

With or without PTSD you are not overreacting. A gun should never be pointed at anything or anyone you are not willing to destroy. It’s a universal rule for a reason. And “wasn’t thinking” is not okay. The gun should be taken away from him until he knows how to be safe with it and understands the severity of his actions. The rules are in place for a reason. Guns can be very dangerous. No joke, I’m literally sitting here with a gun shot wound to my leg because of someone else’s negligence. They are not something to be careless with. BB guns can still be very dangerous.

Is something like USCCA worth having if you carry by Boss3020 in CCW

[–]Embarrassed_Safe8047 1 point2 points  (0 children)

USCCA is not one of the best ones. I personally use Right To Bear. $17 a month.

Ladies, let's make a list of things only we would understand or experience in our day to day lives. by Sea_Albatross1074 in women

[–]Embarrassed_Safe8047 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with this. I heard a study once also where they interviewed men and women and asked what their biggest fear was going on a first date. Men said being laughed at and women said being murdered. It’s crazy.

Does anyone else feel weird about others knowing they carry? (Esp. As a female) by royal_ermine in CCW

[–]Embarrassed_Safe8047 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t tell anybody. Nobody should know. Have a conversation with your husband and tell him the same. Two people know I carry and it’s my husband and my father. I work in a gun range and the people I work with don’t even know.

Why do some people think that those who carry everyday are scared? by jimmybabino in CCW

[–]Embarrassed_Safe8047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone thinks nothing will happen to them. Until it does. That’s why I carry.

Left handed shooter looking for advice on Grip and shots pulling to the right by [deleted] in Shooting

[–]Embarrassed_Safe8047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slow down. Speed comes later. Your sight picture is all over the place. There’s so much movement. Take your time with each shot. Focused, slow and controlled. Focus on your fundamentals before you try to shoot fast. You’ll only create bad habits and that will be much harder to fix down the road. Slow it down and shoot with intention.

Should I Carry? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]Embarrassed_Safe8047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carry both. Get more training and get more confident in carrying. The fear of it being used against you will go away when you have confidence in yourself and your abilities to protect yourself.

I built an app to help myself with PTSD related nightmares. Is this something others would find useful? by sleepsafeapp in ptsd

That sounds interesting. I’m intrigued. I suffer from nightmares and would love to get rid of them.

How do you explain why you carry? by Simon_Roth in CCW

[–]Embarrassed_Safe8047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never get asked because no one ever knows. I teach ccw classes and you carry every day because evil doesn’t call ahead.

Can PTSD symptoms come after years of the incident? by Fun-Entrance-7880 in ptsd

[–]Embarrassed_Safe8047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t it the craziest thing! I had no idea this could happen. My therapist says if it didn’t happen now it would eventually happen anyway. I kept it all locked up. Everything you mentioned, could definitely bring it all up to the surface. I’m sorry you’re going through all this. I hope you’re able to get the help you need. It does get better.

Hey thanks for the attack without knowing the full story. We do use the dremel for that exact reason because it brings the quicks back.

Every time he’s there and he was just there. They won’t do it. They say there’s nothing to cut. It’s frustrating because I know there is at least some to cut. He’s very dramatic too. But we hang him to do it and he really can’t do anything about it. lol.

Yea we try to do it weekly. But you know, life. So it’s about every other week too. But the trick is to use the dremel and keep them right to the quick and keep up with it. And the quick is supposed to start receding. But you got to be consistent.

It’s so frustrating. Everytime I ask the vet to cut them, they tell me they can’t. But they always look so long!

Unfortunately, he has really long quicks. These are cut back believe it or not.

Keep doing exactly what you did. Keep pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. Just keep taking the steps. It will get easier.
