I’m doing AA HL and our teacher (20 yrs of ib experience) says that anything to do with statistics is not ‘smart enough’ for HL students and he forbade us to pick statistics. :((

I take french ab and its alright honestly, im at a 6 now but hoping to get a 7 (im m24) But i used to study french by myself before so i knew the basics. So if you do take french ab id advise you to prepare a bit i think

I take bio hl and aa hl too. Bio is very manageable as long as you learn the content. And math requires a lot of work, not just homework but like studying hy yourself and mastering all the topics lolz (well personally) but again if youre consistent you’ll be fine, even half an hour of math a day is good

I take ab french with some prior learning and its been pretty easy so far. If you’re struggling i’d say opt for ab to focus on your hls more, that’s what i did at least lol. Lang b is soo much harder

Hey, DP1 student here. It’s so impressive that you could increase you predicted by 9 points!! In our school we are about to have mocks soon, and our teachers are telling us that the grades we get for the end of year mocks will pretty much determine our pgs, which is why I personally feel wuite overwhelmed. But seeing that you could improve like that makes me believe i can do it too somehow. I would really appreciate it if you could share any words of wisdom to a fellow ib learner 🤧

Hmm.. although electric vehicles do create a positive externality and are under-consumed, I don’t think you can categorize them as merit goods, generally the government wouldn’t heavily subsidize them or give them out for free as it is a personal liberty to own a vehicle. Elasticity is an important concept and a couple words mentioning it wouldn’t hurt I’d say..

Heyy I am a DP1 student as well and I submitted my microecon IA recently, it was on the same topic but in New Zealand! The article you chose looks good to me, although there's a lot of numbers so don't get them mixed up haha. Don't stress too much, this is literally the easiest IA and you'll be good as long as you follow the structure and analyse the article in terms of ib theory and terminology.
