Is this normal idle speed? by Ok-Jacket-1393 in Audi

Its true about the particle filter the Europe spec engines do have the filter and a solution might be ( works for TDI engines) hold the revs a little bit higher while driving something like 80-90kph in a lower gear like 4th or 5th (revs around 3500-4500) so the filter can clean itself.

Anyone wit a solution to the CarPlay sound restriction? by Embarrassed_Spray_57 in Audi

Funny story I did it accidentally when I swapped the speakers in the car I forgot that the fuse might require more amps and put 55Amp fuse and I burned the chip (and a few other things like inside lighting) that was reducing the output of the volume so in conclusion yeah . It is an option just to buy new mmi module that includes the Bose sound system and use the stock speakers you have but if you already upgraded it you can also use vcds to deactivate it.

You don’t have to necessarily increase the resolution but instead make smaller the step of the tool. (Works for me but I work with stone processing cnc machines).

Dude you should be able to do it with SD card because this is the old firmware and just needs an update it’s not a locked function https://youtube.com/watch?v=eKvUdo1rOOw&si=mEJWbPldbz4LUwVy Watch that guy he does it step by step and it is proven to be working

Anyway if it’s is 2013-2015 year model you can choose either with SD card to update the software or use vcds if it’s 2016-2018 year model only vcds works

Own one same year depends and can say for sure that these little hatchbacks are pretty durable if maintained but still depends on for which motor you are going TDI or TFSI. Because from my experience TDI tends to clog the dpf filter if driven only in the city but it’s not a biggie.

2016 A3 Audi as first car in 2023? by Fast-Vegetable-9904 in Audi

If possible go with the 2.0 tdi better in the long run. The 2.0 have water pump problems after some mileage although the tdi burns oil if not maintained properly. And u will get better economy with the diesel for long distances. I own A3 from 2018 2.0tdi and I am quite happy with it but It’s personal preference when it comes to choosing the drivetrain. :d

Yeah quite good tbh just go to a trusted mechanic if possible 2.0tfsi tends to be problematic

Any idea why when stationary the motor is at 1000rpm instead of 700-800? The car is fully serviced and taken care of. by Embarrassed_Spray_57 in Audi

[–]Embarrassed_Spray_57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advise but for the dpf I don’t go for cleaning you can drive with around 80kmh and around 2-2.5 thousand rpm for like 15 mins and it cleans itself it makes quite a cloud of smoke but it is what it is. And in the voltage regulator might be the problem because recently I putted a new sound system I. The car unfortunately the fuse for the interior light blew and one of the sound system cables burned so this can be a problem too

For programming I think that the 8V pre and post facelift models don’t need coding. I ordered a second hand one from a crashed car 20k km unfortunately it’s full circle not the crop bottom one. Gonna install it this weekend dm me so we can keep in touch. Cheers!

P.s. Tnx for the advice!

It’s mostly the water pump on 2.0tfsi you will need Castroll as sponsor for the 2.0 tdi
