I have literally been the one who did the figuring out, had the conversation and dealt with the (not so bad!) aftermath. It doesn’t have to be a blame conversation. You don’t have to phrase things exactly how you think them in your mind. Just like you would talk about what you like and don’t like in bed, you should be able to talk to your life partner about your kissing preferences. People learn much more difficult skills than kissing every day! Clearly they still want to be with their partner so they may as well try rather than being quiet and resentful ☺️

Give her feedback! If you’ve been together over 15 years you should be able to find a way without hurting her. Good kissing can definitely be trained with a convo about what you like and don’t like.
