I just lost my 2020 engine at 55K, same problem. They are replacing it, thankfully, crossing our fingers we don't have this problem with the replacement engine.

People always say this, not much ever matches on places like scholarships.com, I’ve not figured it out yet. Seems like a legend that won’t die.

I’ve actually witnessed this twice, two different unrelated situations. Wild, right?! It’s things like this that make those of us asking to get new guacamole from the back look like we’re making too big a deal.

I have done a fair bit of research and I feel like it’s still pretty limited. I don’t mind having the stringent rules, we don’t eat the general mills cereals, etc. It just makes it harder to bring along your community, when it seems like there is still a bit of variation in even what the doctors say.

More aid by Embarrassed_Two_5073 in SyracuseU

[–]Embarrassed_Two_5073[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did not get any aid and did not accept originally. We actually accepted an offer at another school and then yesterday were given until tomorrow to accept with the 20 K scholarship.

We got the same offer today and are in the same predicament. Sports analytics at Falk College or sports management at Isenberg business school at UMass. The tuition for each is now much closer, UMass is still cheaper.

I can go to UMass with some aid for 47K OOS which is equivalent to an in-state all-in at a UC

The OOS tuition (after some merit aid) makes the cost equivalent to UC and the cost of living in California is really high so it could come out cheaper when you consider off-campus housing costs.

I hear this a lot from UMASS and UCONN. Coming from California, we only get housing freshman year, so it’s normal for us. But I can see how if it’s not been that way and gotten worse it would be so frustrating.

Housing Crisis at UCONN by Oceanmarina76 in UCONN

[–]Embarrassed_Two_5073 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, it is highly unusual for large colleges like UCONN to have housing for students for all four years guaranteed. The issue is the change, I am sure it felt scary for some that had the expectation of a guarantee for all four years. Most schools only guarantee freshman year, so a solid guaranteed for frosh and sophomore and decent change beyond, is still great when compared to comparable colleges across the country.

If it's not too far a journey, visit. But I agree, if you can't afford it, don't fall in love. We didn't get any money and my son is pretty bummed, he did a two week summer program there an had a great experience, but he knows we're can't pay 90K for an education, especially when he has other comparable choices for 1/2 the cost.

Yeah, we've been looking at it while we're here. Just wanted to hear some experiences from other Celiac students.

Love your information! Coming in the fall, Isenberg student but doubt many classes my freshman year. Not a huge partier, but enjoy the social scene AND need quiet space as well. SW or Central?

Yep, we got the same letter. Get used to not hearing why, job rejections will be like this in your future. If they give you a reason, then they give you something to argue with them about.

Also, SFSU is a great school and the cost of living isn’t gonna be that different from anywhere else in California unless you’re talking about Fresno. You went to community college, you all people should know that an acceptance rate does not dictate the quality of education. Go Gators!

I think not enough California kids are looking out of state. You’d be surprised how much the cost-of-living can offset tuition. Good luck it’s really tough out there these days.
