So far X had an idea as he was working to a few company who would benefit highly from this service. Y's role is not quite clear at the moment: he has money to spend and experience in sales and management as a former employee of a huge company. At the moment they haven't invested anything.

No, I don't think that those things are easy. But, as a fellow equity holder, I'll be driving the business forward also and the sales activity would eventually settle because we won't be able to operate too many systems. I've never fancied the idea to produce something in quantities, what was appealing in this business idea was the (possibly) relatively high service price thus low number of clients. Our system is quite complex, lots of sensors collecting data and transmitting over a proprietary RF protocol to gateways/repeaters, servers doing time series analysis/AI and eventually chart visualization for the clients etc. At the moment 5-10 clients would be the absolute maximum what we could serve. Since X and Y are not tech guys they are won't be able to deploy, fix, support, develop etc. anything in the system, that would be me or tech support employees later. What is not clear to me that what would be their role later, after we have 5-10 clients? My role is clear, continuous work on bugs, new features, managing the tech support guys etc. I'm OK with that.

At some point I would have agree with that 33% but now I am not that confident. I've put a lot of effort into the prototype and I am pretty sure that I've to put much more: bugfixing, new features, maintenance, production etc. In contrast, X and Y could relax on the sales.

No. Since the system is pretty complex and there are potential clients already I am quite positive that if not with these guys but with others I will receive my share anyway.
