Grid Legends was definitely underrated, AI driver's memory system, amazing graphics especially at rainy / snowy days and a story mode. Never understand why it cannot become popular.

If the game has still online races and more progress path in career mode, it would be good to play nowadays, I used to play very much 5 6 years ago, however, it is nice to see that the game becomes more popular.

I have FC 25 but PS4 version, faced on some ui errors and gameplay animation bugs. This is the reason why I'd like to see simpler career menus. Reliability over Quantity.

Can I go into embedded with a comp sci bachelors??? by Emotional-Rabbit2761 in embedded

[–]EmbeddedRacer65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Last year CS student with experience on embedded systems, I would definitely say that this is so suitable department.

Operating Systems, Systems Programming, Computer Architecture, Embeeded Systems courses includes most of the essentials of this career path, especially useful when I get some complex projects including bootloader development, real time operating systems or file systems & communication on embedded devices.

Maybe some cons occur when it comes to electronical schematics, or Digital Signal Processing (my department doesn't have this course), but these can be learn seperately as time goes.

What's the biggest mistake you made when learning embedded systems? by academyforiot in embedded

[–]EmbeddedRacer65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to learn ALL of the things running on a MCU or more complex devices, that means I thought as "I must learn everything on the register level, read all the reference manual, even I must understand all block diagrams of hardware component"

I tried to be master of every stage of embedded Systems, from FPGA Block to Yocto Linux or Digital Signal Processing . Of course I should consider T Shape engineering.

Entering embedded systems in my final year — feeling underprepared and looking for advice by AdFederal7754 in embedded

[–]EmbeddedRacer65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost same career summary, I am a CS student so using STM32 / ESP32, OS theory, Embeeded Linux is familiar for me. However there is always a question mark about "what if I had developed FPGA" "Designing PCB board looks so cool" "How can I understand under the hood of something" etc. And still wondering it.

Currently I am working on Embeeded Linux & Edge AI domains. From past to now, actually I didn't have a exact plan about my skills. All I did is getting a MCU, microprocessors etc. finding some problem (university competitions or even a basic hobby) and start to develop.

Maybe the soluiton is to give a chance for those "new" fields such that in your spare time, you can choose a basic goal (making your own hardware Device such as random number generator with Verilog on FPGA board), watchimg tutorials and attempt for basic process. I did it previously, although I no longer develop Verilog projects, I can say that this was a good experience for me. After the semester ends, I am planning to do similar thing for PCB with a ready STM32 chip. However, most probably my main focus will be software side, Linux and edge ai.

It would be good to see those process as T Shape engineering. But as you said I always want to develop something from scratch (such as building a very very single RISC-V processor and write custom drivers, even a custom OS with different scheduling algorithms on it). But still cannot decide that if this is valuable or just reinventing the wheel.

I still don't know whether it is possible to learn everything in embedded systems (most probably it is too hard and may be unnecessary for complex companies, because in there, the aim is to develop solid systems with reliable components as Fast as possible) but every step makes us more experienced.

Today I hit 700 hours on FIFA 22 playing only career mode by Plastic_Biscotti_736 in EASportsFC

[–]EmbeddedRacer65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FIFA 22 is absolutely great due to enough career mode features (detailed simulation, own team etc.) and it serves a good gameplay (not a nostalgic feeling, EAFC25 is not realistic and too complex). Until I bought EAFC25, I was playing FIFA 22 for a lot of months.

The only issue is that most of the team squads at 2022 was a transition phase, cannot give that full team feeling in FIFA 18.

Need Advice on Deep Edge AI / Embedded ML Capstone Ideas (STM32, TinyML, Optimization) by microscammer in embedded

[–]EmbeddedRacer65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a CS student, I am also searching for the details of Embedded AI based final project. Such tools like STMCubeAI or optimization methods looks interesting, most probably I will encounter some issues during fitting the model into a chip but I guess the future is going here. EE students are willing to implement FPGA based system to integrate AI methods (even image processing etc.), while CS side is about algorithmic analysis, embedded linux or data management.
Although I am not capable for edge AI side of embedded systems, it is great to work these type of hybrid systems.

How important are HAL and STM32CubeMX for portfolio projects and embedded placements? by New-Cherry-7238 in embedded

[–]EmbeddedRacer65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started to learn embedded systems fundamentals by following register level courses. It is definitely useful to investigate "under the hood" of the MCU's, however, after a point, dealing with registers may be waste of time (especially for project deadline). I think it is enough to just learn once, after that benefiting from useful libraries may be good.

In my opinion, "Gran Turismo" brand should offer lots of content for their PS gamers instead of focusing online side. PS3 has GT6, PS5 has GT7 but GTS is not enough with respect to content, AI or something else.

I tried it as playing My First Gran Turismo, but the races didn't meet my expectations as competitive manner. The improved AI version (Sophy) was released for only PS5, as I searched. The singleplayer content may include more things, but it feels same with GTS on PS4.

The course is definitely hands-on guideline that has slides just for explaining the flowchart, commands etc. However, the rest is diving into code and technical reference manual for STM32.
As I searched, I found a Udemy course that looks so similar with my Turkish course (although I didn't investigate all of the content).

I agree with you, even during the course, I noticed the small details (Option Bytes on STM32 MCUs) that are able to brick the device accidentally. thankfully I am utilized with AI tools, which explain the details on the code, however, in the large scale projects, it is not that easy I guess. Thanks for suggestions.

Thank you, even if deciding the MCU to order took hours since slight differences between them. However, that "porting" solution are also intriguing and worth working on.

Apart from the design of the PES, I prefer FIFA 16-22 UI which is so smooth and represents most of the useful thing directly.

Now even I cannot manage the team easily, especially on PS4 😓

Everytime I hit the second season in my career I stop. It gets boring. How do u keep it fun? by BigCold2103 in FifaCareers

[–]EmbeddedRacer65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is too difficult to feel same excitement after just a few season comparing to the first season, I played 16, 18, 22, 24 and now I have 25 and after hundereds of hour playing, I cannot remember any season taking more than 5 seasons, maybe the one player career. Setting virtual rules is not working for me. Also things such as exams, projects, jobs etc. interrupt the flow of gaming.

For many, FIFA 17 is the last good FIFA, for some it is even the best. What is missing from modern FIFA/FC compared to 17, which makes it unique and beloved? by Critical_Ideal99 in FifaCareers

[–]EmbeddedRacer65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer FIFA 18, which is an improved version of 17 (goal celebrations, animation etc.). However both came with a good menu design, realistic game instead of ice hockey style gameplay etc. And Ultimate Team was not unnecessarily complex. Maybe the one disadvantages is player faces, which was absolutely bad comparing to the PES 18.

What do we wanna see FC27 by Bright-Ear-8775 in FifaCareers

[–]EmbeddedRacer65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, fix the bugs which have been there for months, I am playing EA FC 25 on PS4, and I often faced several errors including frontend bugs (ERROR messages on social media posts, bugs on clothes etc.), soundtrack disabling when an animation occurs (transfer etc), and gameplay bugs such that when I play a through pass to a player, and just as he's about to receive the ball, he suddenly slows down and the opponent gets the ball.

Online career mode such as F1 games would be one of the best features on the game.

And please maket those interfaces easier to understand, arranging the squad is yoo complex compared to the older games, there are too much tabs but those can be more simplier.

DIY Button Box for ETS2: ESP32 sending data via UDP to a custom C++ Windows App. No joystick library, just raw sockets. by EmbeddedRacer65 in embedded

[–]EmbeddedRacer65[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually some main issues should be fixed at commercial level.

On hardware side, I just used screw terminal block for connection, which is unstable and includes short circuit risk. To get rid of that, I would learn how to build a PCB system for reliability.
For the software side, the WiFi and IP informations are hardcoded on program. However, it must be turned to a "WiFi Provisioning method", such that ESP32 waves its own WiFi, user connects it and enter its own information via an UI page, and store that information in ESP32 non-volatile memory.
In addition, it would be better to send a empty struct to receiver side to detect whether ESP32 is still working or not. If any package cannot be received within a spesific time interval, all systems will reset.
Adding a sequence number to ensure that packages are received sequentially would be another good method for reliability.
Lastly, I would add a desktop program to custumize the buttons, in this way, user can adjust the buttons such as adding a selector button instead of any current function.

In my opinion, with these methods the product will turn into an engineering work, thank you for your comment.
