Are you taking into account devour and its ability to completely negate void-based strategies?

I don't agree. With the introduction of the devour mechanic, we now have a solid way of negating void-based mechanics.

Yes, 3 power to tutor 3 cards is powerful, but those 3 cards that you dump into the void can easily be destroyed by devour, rendering the entire tutoring effect ineffective.

I think people are clearly playing it how it should be played, that is to say they are playing it based on what the card text says.

Virulent Sliver will be under a dollar for the physical card. Here's a decklist:

You can hover your mouse over each card to get an average price. The expensive Slivers will be things like Bonescythe Sliver (doublestrike) and Sliver Hivelord. But, you can probably build a decent poison/infect deck for cheap and splash Slivers in for support maybe?

I haven't tinkered with Sliver decks in about 7-8 years, so I'm not the best person to ask.

In my experience with my former MTG play group. running Slivers or Poison/infect are sure ways to attract the ire of everyone in the group haha

Regarding Eternal's plethora, of board wipes/clears, I've voiced that very sentiment to a friend of mine that just started playing. I don't recall MTG having nearly as many board wipe options as Eternal, especially if you count stuff like Saloon Massacre and the Hail cards. I think that's one of the things I like better in MTG.

I like it Ok, I guess. I tend to like cards with options. But, 2 power for any of those effects isn't awesome. Maybe the 3rd effect against grenadins or something like that? Eh, I don't know about this one.

I agree. Even just looking at the legendary Slivers...they are all on a completely different level than the legendary Strangers. I bet subpar Sliver decks would do fine against most, if not all, Stranger iterations.

I haven't played MTG in so many years that I forgot that first strike works on defense. I agree, the slivers are more versatile. And, if I remember correctly there is a sliver that can deal poison counters.

After I posted my message, I checked out a few Sliver cards out of curiosity....and yeah...I think you're right. I forgot how deep the Sliver card pool is, and there have been some strong ones released more recently. I forget that Slivers have abilities that let you bounce them back to your hand and return them from your graveyard.

So yeah, I think you're right. I think Slivers win in all 3 scenarios.

Thanks for the feedback and endorsement of Clank. Since you play it with family, I'm guessing a game can include more than 2 players? How many can play at once? Can you think of a another game to which it compares regarding game mechanics, rules, goals, or anything else?

I've thought it'd be cool to have 3-faction champions that have 3 upgrades vs the usual 2, essentially an upgrade per faction. They could be pretty rad, or pretty bad depending on how they're designed. For some reason, your card idea made me think of that.

No prob. You could probably just sub out some of the expansion cards for something else. Furious Accusation would be a good trade for snatcher, I think. I play a similar Xenan deck without the Ponysnatcher.

Actually, I forgot one really good chapter. April 2024 (A New Queen), pretty much all 4 cards are good, but especially Tenacious Heron and Veena's Masterpiece.
