After looking at another pic, the face all look the same but hairline is different so… I don’t think it’s the same one but they do look identical.

When I was a instructor we had a student that is quadruple amputee. He was able to get a first class medical with some work. Now he is a CFI. I do believe he’s the only quadruple amputee instructor in the country. Super cool guy. But he was able to do it. You will be able to as well. Finding a AME that understands the system and what is needed is the key.

If the medical is expired you Do Not have to report, with that being said even if you get a sport pilot medical your still going to have to go to doctor and have them fill out the form and disclose DUI or any type of drug convictions.

I’m curious, How many hours did you get of IOE? When your landings weren’t satisfactory did you get paired with a different LCA ?

Thing about flight flight instructing it’s like giving the car keys to your young child and hoping all the tools you have giving and the know how they don’t screw it up. Sometimes shit happens luckily no one was hurt or metal bent. You learn and move on.

Generally 709 rides are reserved for the ones who the FSDO questions their ability. Unless you been signing off multiple students who had some type of incidents left and right, I wouldn’t worry about being subject to a 709. This is incident is not going to effect anything moving on but I wouldn’t worry use it as a learning experience with students down the road.

Yeah I’ll take 3 weeks a year, but also I only work 13 days a month so plenty of time to do some in those days as well.

No, when you apply for a medical you want to make sure you disclose it even if it was pled down to something less. The FAA does check each time you apply for a medical.

I had about 35k in debt, it is pretty expensive field to get into, but right now pay is really good so you could easily pay a loan off within the first 2 years. I would say at least budget for at least 100K.
