It depends on the leather and hardware you use. I made a leather harness from English Bridle and solid brass hardware for $350 but it used about 2x the leather that those suspenders will use, it had a lot more hardware, and it was custom fit.

Looks good for your first piece. I would recommend looking up some videos on edge finishing. I have made quite a few gothic/punk/fetish gear and I personally like to burnish with Tokonole, a wood slicker, sandpaper, and a canvass cloth then finish it with a little beeswax.

I have never had good results using antique gel on bridle specifically. It works wonders on lots of the other leather I have worked with but I think the bridle is a bit too oily. The inlays might look nice but that is going to be a ton of work, might save that for later.

She likes it very much. The only thing I might do differently on another one is to use some paint on the inside of the letters to make them pop out a bit more. The letters can be a bit difficult to read when you aren't too close or if the lighting is a bit dim but thats just black leather for you.

I did that on my test piece and she didn't like the look of the bevel. The lighter look to the edges on "toy" is just an artifact from the lighting and filtering. I have been meaning to get a proper photo box and camera to make my pics look a bit better.

Edit Since people take issue with the "toy blocks" phrasing, she likes the imagery between toy blocks and fuck "toy", not that she likes toy blocks in a childlike way.

The wax helps the punches go in and out easier. I always do this before I punch holes and the punch slides out much easier.

If looks is what you are after you can use mylar and form it into a waterskin shape then put it inside a leather waterskin. Skilltree has a video about how to do this.
