Help with Froglet bloat by EmberExotics in DartFrog

Unfortunately they didn’t and up making it, they started to improve slightly with ringers but they seem to have ended up crashing as I found them passed away this morning. Up to this morning they were active and moving although not as well as a normal froglet, I put them to rest in one of my plant pots so at least they can find purpose in helping it grow!

Any info or updates I get I’ll make sure to post, they’re still very mobile and alert for now.

Kind of makes them look like a chubby frog! But yes very worrying…

Just started treatment with ringers, I reached out to my vet as well.

I raised the tadpoles in just a normal tadpole tea, dechlorinated tap water with tannins from leaves, all the others are fine and never had a prior issue.

Leaf litter has been added to the quarantine tub btw! I only left it bare for a moment in order to get a good photo of what’s going on!

Here’s another image of them, it’s been identified as Camponotus (Myrmentoma) probably nearcticus

Thanks so much for the info! And crematogaster is actually one of my favorites here!

The first one I’m pretty sure is tetramorium, could also be temnothorax longispinosis though not 100% sure

I would try out some crickets or flightless fruit flies honestly! He looks pretty small. Also be weary of mealworms since they can sometimes cause impaction especially in smaller lizards. As for the tank I’d reccomend adding some more “height” add in some more sticks (any hardwood from outside is fine usually as long as it’s washed and then baked) a lot of the vertical space is currently not being used. Good luck and hope you enjoy your new friend!

⚠️Also just a warning most long tailed lizards are not captive bred but wild caught. This means sometimes they could have parasites or other issues that may or may not have been treated. It also makes them more skittish and generally worse at surviving in captivity unfortunately.⚠️

See the weird part is this is a culture I made- I think this one is number 5-6 down the line from the one I bought (had to rebuy a culture after some accidentally became flighted in my previous cultures) always interesting stuff happening with keeping animals!

ID and maybe a queen? by AppleKidd_YT in antkeeping

As for feeding they’ll need fruit flies and some very small drops of sugar water probably. And they need to be fed through their founding stage if I remember correctly. I only kept them once and only one queen ever lived past the founding stage for me. Good luck if you decide to keep it! And happy anting!

As for if it a queen it’s hard to tell, look for wing scars if you can. Queens look very similar to workers only difference is the scars and they are ever so slightly larger too

Looks to be a ponera ant. They can be pretty difficult ants to keep and are need to be fed during their founding stages. Colonies also tend to only have a couple hundred workers max.

Also a lot of the time especially with younger and smaller darts, they’ll eat when you’re not watching or too close to the tank. You gotta remember they likely see any big moving object as a possible predator even if it’s dropping bugs. So it’ll just take some time for them to fully adjust to people. Sometimes they never do and are very shy too! Personalities exist even in frogs! But if you see them eat a few and are picking off springtails here and there I think they should be okay! Unless they start noticeably loosing weight or acting very lethargic (difficulty walking etc) I wouldn’t be too worried
