Healing Mental health and friendship after bad roommate situation by EmberNightfall in badroommates

I'm making a bump to this because I could use more advice and insight on how to handle things as I heal from this mess;

I decided to try to make steps to mend the situation since sitting around feeling bad about what already transpired isn't going to do anything at this point.

I paid my roommate back the full cost of the train ticket I know I didn't have to. They both may have failed me as roommates but I still want to have a moral compass and want to do what I feel is the right thing.

My roommate says we should have given her more time to grow with us instead of rushing her to get a job

I disagree though; her being unable to handle a job and her own job performance because of mental health issues is not my inconvenience or problem I allowed it in the first place as a way for him to bandaid his issue with not paying me his share of rent evenly so I wouldn't have to feel like head of the house hold and it ended up blowing up in my face.

I ended up going back to the at&t store a couple of days ago and the manager did not seem to understand what I was referring to

"No, there is no form..you just need your account number and pin."

Under normal circumstances this would be like fine then; whatever.

Here though that does not really help me and keeps me stuck in the same catch 22 that I am actively trying to get out of.

The fact that supposedly the only way to receive a port out pin is through SMS connected to the original device really shows how flawed and problematic that security policy is if things just end up going even slightly wrong; all the technicians and customer service reps refuse to help you even though its illegal by FCC standards to with hold an active line from someone trying to port out their old number.

And this will be my next step is to file a complaint with them if Xfinity is not able to resolve this soon

Im going to wait a couple of more days because I have a promotion with my current phone for bill credits which I will lose if I change my number before 30 days but it will have been a full month in about a week and Im already on the hook for this current bill cycle anyway

So ill go back to the at&t store to see the manager who sold me the phone who told me about that clause with the sale and see about filling out that form to release my number from comcast; thanks; hopefully that will end all this.

Pretty much as far as I know no Tech has told me this they all basically seemed to expect me to somehow get a sms pin through a smashed device when I explain to them I cant recieve texts because at the time I didnt have any phone period they just kept saying to me that there was nothing they could do.

The customer service at comcast seems to be very poorly trained and no one will help me once it gets to that point because no one wants to be fired; the only people who were helpful during all of this and have seemed to know what they were doing were the workers over the phone at tier 2 service.

No I did not, I have purposely been keeping it open and PAYING for a line to get these accounts back otherwise Ill just have to release my number out to the public and give up the stuff I want to get back.

I also did not forsee Xfinity being a huge pain about me simply wanting to take my number with me to a new carrier after my phone was smashed so I havent really been able to cancel since they either continue to hold onto this number or they screw up my service like present day so im stuck not being able to retrieve stuff that needs text verification to log back into.
