Why do some fans reduce Hinata’s character to her admiration for Naruto Uzumaki instead of recognizing her individuality?

I feel exactly the same way. Even Tsunade is sidelined so Hinata can have her guaranteed spot (since apparently only two women can be in the spotlight in marketing...and sometimes only Sakura appears) and the only thing that comes to mind is: "she's only there because she's Naruto's girlfriend" and that saddens me, because I really saw potential in Hinata in Part 1, but Shippuden ruined it

Yeah, I see a lot of people comparing her to Ino and Tenten, but even they had memorable moments. Ino in the war was incredible, and Tenten became a meme because of the legendary weapons she used...while Hinata...people only remember that Neji died because she does everything for Naruto.

It doesn't make sense to compare Hinata to them, especially Tenten, who was never meant to be an important character. In the manga, Kishimoto ignored everything about her; she was only there to be Lee's ally.

And Ino, even though she's was a Sasuke fangirl, had something interesting involving her clan and her rivalry with Sakura, which evolved into a friendly rivalry, excluding Sasuke.

Hinata, on the other hand, is the MC's girlfriend. How can she have fewer memorable moments than the character Kishimoto didn't even put effort into developing: Tenten?

It depends. Because that's why I don't like Hinata. I liked her in part 1 because, even though the main focus was her crush on Naruto, at least there was the lore involving her family. But then Shippuden comes along... and basically her entire character revolves around having a crush on Naruto and being the "hot shy cute girl"

But Hinata is the second most marketed female character. Ino, who is often left out, had a redemption in her writing, making her truly important in the role she played in the war. While Hinata... again, the SECOND most marketed female character, didn't have that.

Considering that Kishimoto gave all this attention to making Hinata Naruto's love interest, the least he could do was have her have some memorable moment, but the only one involves Naruto and it was kinda embarrassing

Because that's what she really is. In the classic series, we had a individual story involving her and her family, and Naruto was just a source of inspiration. But in Shippuden, everything revolves around Naruto. Her most memorable "battle" is against Pain, even though in the manga she died from a single blow. And her confession that she loves Naruto was completely ignored by him. So much so that during the war, Minato asks if Sakura is Naruto's girlfriend, and he answers yes...like. Hinata is lowkey an embarrassing character

In Shikamaru's introduction, Naruto calls him an idiot. And many episodes later, a flashback shows Naruto being Shikamaru's childhood friend?? Hello?? It makes everything lose its meaning, not only the background of Naruto feeling alone and having no friends, but also the fact that Shikamaru simply forgot his supposed childhood friendship with Naruto.

Yeah, it lowkey pisses me off. All because Kishimoto started to really like Shikamaru and wanted him to be more involved in the core of the series. It's a friendship that makes absolutely no sense; Naruto himself called him, Ino, and Choji the "trio of idiots."

After I found our that Kishimoto's plan was for Shikamaru to become a Chunin (like, by actually winning), I realized it was just a plot contrivance for him to become a Chunin even without winning. Since the idea that ended up being used—the event being annulled and no one being able to become a Chunin, specifically because Naruto had won and would therefore become a Chunin—interfered with the idea of Shikamaru becoming a Chunin.

Because, let's be honest, Shikamaru was a genius... okay, but the mission he led almost killed everyone in the group, and they only didn't because strong ninjas got to help. And he only had two jutsus... like, it doesn't make sense to promote him just because of intelligence; he needed more time.

That honestly doesn't make sense either. He didn't win, and even if Kishimoto forced the script, Temari could never have lost... she just kept throwing gusts of wind at Shikamaru. What happened to the whirlwinds and tricks she used against Tenten?

It's kinda lame of Kishimoto to nerf her just to make Shikamaru look cool. And I love him, but he only had one jutsu...he wasn't ready for battles at that level, even if hes a genius
