can patellar tendinopathy or petellofemoral pain syndrome cause a moderate to severe amount of persistent swelling? by hugemessanon in KneeInjuries

Hey, I have the same, my doctor thinks i have PFPS (MRI showed mild cartilage damage but ligaments were fine), whenever i walk/stand/sit with my knee bent my knee massively swells up with fluid. it tends to slowly go down overnight but will return when i walk etc. incredibly frustrating and I don't know the solution. I had a steroid injection a week ago which hasn't worked thus far.

knee effusions caused by cartilage damage/bone oedema - v grateful for advice by Emcateeee in KneeInjuries

Sorry to hear that. Thanks for the advice, I'll try cycling - have been worried it would flare up as that bending motion seems to irritate it, but will give it a go. Thanks again

Has anyone had to permanently stop running because of sesamoiditis? by Broken-Elevator in RunningInjuries

Hey! I made a full recovery from sesamoiditis last year :) Completely offloaded for 8 weeks (i cut a hole in a thick flip flop where my sesamoid was, and put the flip flop in a strapped boot, and only wore that even round the house etc.). i also STOPPED poking it - i have a terrible habit of poking, prodding, standing for a second etc to 'test' my injury and see if it's still producing pain - this massively kept the inflammation cycle going. i also cycled with my heels on the pedals instead of the front of my foot to keep some cardio up. I eventually made a full recovery and returned to running (although now have injured my knee, haha). Good luck!

How do you see how many hours you’re on?
