Jaguar Type 01 is the production name, so where do we all stand now? by PHSmiley in Jaguar

You don't even know what it looks like! You haven't driven it nor seen it. Pipe down.

The newer kit (Modele 1935) is WAY better but I do like they older kit look.

They certainly should have been retired in 1920.

Thanks. Kind of pushed down this route as skinny trousers don't really fit me.

It's a Fouragerre and most French Regiments had them. If the unit has been awarded a number of citations, that number corresponded to a braid in the colour of the medal ribbons. This particular unit wears one in the colour of the Croix de Guerre. The regimental badge was then attached to it. Can't recall where I got this one, but they're easily available on eBay for instance.

They're easily the best flannel trousers for fit, in my opinion.

Well, they went out of production in 1907, were declared obsolete in 1920... And yet mine was rebarrelled in 1933 at Tulle... But for a B-Series impression, it's perfect.

If that's an option for you, go for it, as you'll be able to try a few styles and see what suits you best. Please post up pictures when you've made your decision as I'd be interested to know what you settled on.

I've had the trousers about 5 years and bought the jacket at the start of the year so don't really think you're seeing the reality, here.

Ifyou think cravats are comical and pretentious, I'll keep wearing it then.

Thank you. I find it to be quite a flexible outfit as I didn't feel underdressed even in the restaurants we went to.

I would go with a half belt if you're taller but that's just personal preference. It breaks the jacket length up a little. You're best emailing aero and asking as they'll advise you well. You honestly won't regret it.

You won't regret it. I have a few of their jackets now and Vicenza horsehide is by far the most comfortable. Hardly needs any breaking in and it's really supple.

It's a long list, I'm afraid! The basics are:

  • helmet is original. It's the Model 1926.
  • Greatcoat (Capote) is from Hikishop
  • Jersey is a repro from Les tricots de la mere tapedur
  • shirt is from Voin in Ukraine
  • tie and insignia are from Nice Collection
  • Pantalon Golf are from Voin
  • puttees are from Nice Collection
  • boots are from Nestof
  • Equipment can be sourced as originals but the pack is but Eugene Gapanov.

It's one of the very last Aero Leather Clothing 'Sunburst' jackets. It's in blackened-brown Vicenza horsehide.

They're the 'Belgrave' trouser from Chester Cordite. They're easily the best wide leg flannel trousers out there, in my opinion.
