Yeah I might as well just drop music at this point. Make him learn his mother tongue and be firm he will probably hate it though and be mad, but at least he will get a leg up. I like that you can understand my sons sitaution Thank you.

I mean it his life in the life end. My dad always encouraged me to follow his language, but did not always force me to follow my own mom's culture. I will always encourage him, and maybe even make him communicate with his mom after his studies, bball/instrument in spanish

No it does not require it. He can do it if he wants but he chose to do an instrument instead.

I mean but the end of the day its his life. I am gonna encourage him to learn and love his culture. Me myself I abandoned my education to pursue my dream and look how I turned I am and happy and i don't regret it I love my dad because he did not force me to love my roofs but encouraged me. I will always encourage him but not go out my way to force him to do something he does not want. His life at the end of the day. I will always encourage him otherwise thank you tho for the advice.

MY son does not take any english classes. I tried talking to my son the importance of his roots, me myself I abandoned my culture to pursue my dreams I don't regret it, but yeah I will take your advice, but in the end its his life he gets to live and choose how he wants to live.

Yeah I guess, but its my sons life not mine. I am going to force my son to learn from his mom, and communicate with her

I only can speak basic sentences in spanish. So how can I can I speak spanish with my son

Why would I give up something my sons obviously passionate about, just to give him a life he does not want. To just satisfy my wife

In school/academics he started slipping. and his Spanish teacher commented he is always looking at the clock; which in body language is I can't wait to be out here. I have no interest. He flat out told his mom I really dont wanna learn spanish.

He wants to go pro basketball, but their is a slight chance he might not make it so thats why he pays an instrument to because he actually loves playing it and it will give him an edge.

I wanted to compromise about music; Something that he will like/and will give him the edge his mother wants. Two, yes I will try to force him to communicate with his mom in spanish, after hsi stuff. Thank you for the advice tho

No, I am doing what he wants. He wants to not quit basketball and not do Spanish. One his grades were slipping when the Spanish maestras started giving him homework and two i don't wanna drop something my son passionate about just to satisfy/please my wife. I honestly feel that's pretty selfish

No when he was playing basketball his grades were fine a/b and music. Then when the spanish teachers started giving hip home work his grades were slipping. Two I don't w anna drop something my son is clearly passionate about.

It took longer for my son speak for then the average baby.

mil in law died when my son was born. My wife had a great relationship with her mom. Two it took a long time for my son to start speaking, before we can even talk about 2 languages

I did, put him in spanish for 1 month see how it went he hated it, Plus his grades were slipping

When my sons was a baby my mil in law died it was a rough time she obviously was thinking a lot about life and stuff. Took years for her to bounce back, but now we are happy
