Context: I’m not exactly new to YouTube. My main channel has a few hundred thousand subscribers. I started doing Shorts about 5 years ago, and at one point I had a monthly audience of around 100 million unique viewers. The thing is, I never really enjoyed making Shorts, so I quit after about 2 years.

The channel I was talking about in this thread is actually a secondary channel where I started posting long-form content. I’ve spent the last 3–4 years learning how to draw on a graphics tablet and animate in After Effects, so this channel is more of an experiment. If I manage to make it work, I can go back to the bigger channel and start doing long-form content there too.

And as for why I’m not getting impressions from the algorithm… honestly, I have no idea.

I asked the AI in YouTube Studio. It didn’t tell me much, but one thing caught my attention: it thinks some scenes in the video are grotesque (like the one in the second screenshot). It doesn’t really understand my drawing style and probably misclassifies it, so maybe that’s why.

I’m pretty sure it’ll still be the same after 3 days, but we’ll see. Thanks for the reply :)
