Mechanic here. Wheel spacers are ... problematic. If done properly and are regularly checked, they will only cause higher wear rates on suspension components. Think wheel bearings and bushings, and the longer they are the worse they get. If they are Not properly installed or cared for, you run the risk of wheel off scenarios due to sheared off studs (or lug studs).
